The manor house is an absolute delight both in terms of stylish decor and also tranquil location. The building has been tastefully yet appropriately renovated and is very spacious. You are left to your own devices but aware that there is help at the chateau should you need it. There is nothing in the village in the way of shops or restaurants so you need to drive in to Azay le Rideau if you want to eat out in the evening. (We chose to BBQ and ate out during the day more). The comings and goings of the cat and dog were a bonus for our pet deprived children - as were the horses and donkeys. The gardens are fantastic and the pool is perfect. The only frustration is that if the owners are in residence then the hours when you can use the pool are restricted to 8.30 - 11am and 3pm - 5pm which was a disappointment to discover on our arrival as this applied for the first week and would have been better to know at the point of booking.

One of the loveliest places we have stayed!! Although village lacking in a few basic amenities several nearby towns to provide everything you could want.
