This cottage is beautifully situated but is desperately in need of updating and brought into the new century....... the owners are welcoming, its surrounded by some amazing walks, however it really needs gutting, a shower fitted (I don't want to shower using the supplied kitchen jug) new hygienic kitchen needs to be installed - carpets need replacing!

A nicely presented historic property located off the beaten track that provides a quiet sanctuary for a lovely holiday away from it all. Accommodation is small (as described) but perfectly adequate for 2 people (plus a pet, apparently, if required).

A very cosy cottage in beautiful location of abbey grounds. Would have found a cafetiere useful!

We really enjoyed being in the cottage. Don't let the patterned carpets put you off they are good quality wool ones and suit the cottage. The hosts were wonderful, the setting in the grounds of the Abbey idyllic, everything on hand, just close by in the pretty village and for local walks. The cottage is almost at the foot of the Cerne Giant man and we had a wonderful walk up there on our first evening. Behind the cottage through a gate there is a table and chairs in a large area of lawned garden for your use. We enjoyed the woodburning stove and the cozy kitchen/living/diner, perfect for two people. We also enjoyed the giant bath so take some candles and bath oil and relax before bedtime. A lovely peaceful retreat. There was even a radio for mood music.
