Description

Located within a woodland garden, this detached property is secluded with amenities closeby.

Commanding spectacular views over Cardigan Bay, these four holiday properties enjoy an elevated position nestled beside a mountain stream, accessed by a steep shared drive. Woodland Roost (ref WN72) is a detached hideaway located within a woodland garden and Cedar Rest (ref WN82) and Coastal Retreat (ref 28519) are delightful wings of the owners’ 16th-century hillside farmhouse. Ceilwart Cottage (ref WN73) is situated in a beautiful, terraced garden with patio, BBQ and patio furniture, and has strong green credentials with its solar panels for hot water, a ground source heat pump for the comfortable central heating and cosy sheep’s’ wool insulation, not forgetting the triple glazed windows and the UV filtered natural spring water. They all overlook the owners’ field, and are only a mile away from the town of Barmouth, with its choice of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. A steep walk across the road takes you to the promenade and a beautiful sandy beach. Close by are all the amenities of the Snowdonia National Park, Harlech with its castle and golf course, Portmeirion, and steam trains run from Porthmadog. They are secluded but not isolated, with horse riding, fishing and mountain bike centres within an easy drive. Shops, pubs and restaurants 1 mile.

We stayed at Woodland Roost for a week and it was wonderful. Elaine is a welcoming host but also gives you your space. The house itself is a little gem, wonderful views and very comfortable. We're already planning our return. Many thanks for a lovely week.

We had a really good holiday when we stayed in Woodland Roost 2 weeks ago. The owner was very welcoming and the bungalow was in a superb location, overlooking the sea. The evening sunsets were amazing, helped by glorious weather! We found the accommodation very comfortable and warm, with everything we needed to hand. We enjoyed Barmouth very much, we walked through the little streets onto the hillside over looking the estuary. The views were fantastic! On one of the days, we had a wonderful walk along the Mawddach trail, again superb scenery, a really beautiful part of Wales. We used the local bus service and the train on 2 occasions. It was so nice not to have to use the car whilst we were away. I would recommend this holiday accommodation to anyone wanting to get away from the rush of life. Would like to stay there again. Thank you!

A quite unique property. Secluded amongst trees beside a rocky mountain stream but with a grand view out to sea and to the Llyn peninsula. We enjoyed eating out on the small terrace or the conservatory watching the sun going down. The owner made us very welcome.
