Contemporary ground floor apartment for two, with panoramic views over Cardigan Bay, mountain biking and walking close by.

Commanding spectacular sea views over Cardigan Bay, these three holiday properties enjoy an elevated, rural position nestled beside a mountain stream, accessed by a steep shared drive. Woodland Roost (ref WN72) is a detached hideaway located within a woodland garden and Cedar Rest (ref WN82) and Coastal Retreat (ref 28519) are delightful wings of the owners’ 16th-century hillside farmhouse. They all overlook the owners’ field, and are only a mile away from the town of Barmouth, with its choice of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. A steep walk across the road takes you to the promenade and a beautiful sandy beach. Close by are all the amenities of the Snowdonia National Park, Harlech with its castle and golf course, Portmeirion, and steam trains run from Porthmadog. They are secluded but not isolated, with horse riding, fishing and mountain bike centres within an easy drive. Shops, pubs and restaurants 1 mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams. Step to 1 double bedroom with beam and en-suite shower room with toilet.

We enjoyed a beautiful weekend here. It really was a retreat. The views are stunning and the location perfect for either relaxing and locking yourselves away or venturing into Barmouth. The property has everything you need and was very comfortable and cosy. We are looking forward to a return visit as soon as we can.

Lovely little cottage for 2. Brilliant for walkers. We were walking the coastal path from Portmadog to machynlleth. Was bigger than the pictures show and we were pleasantly surprised. Cosy comfortable and warm. Brilliant wifi reception. Great location and view, 2 mins drive from Barmouth. 5 mins walk to train station and beautiful white sand beach at Llanaber. Beaches and all amenities at Barmouth are excellent. Best breakfast at Mynddyns. Would recommend. Host Elaine is very friendly and welcoming.

Great views and friendly atmosphere. The Wi-Fi was fast, no phone signal in the building, but if you went into the garden there was reception. A nice bolt hole within walking distance to Barmouth.

We stayed at this retreat for a week on the positive side it's a great view from the garden and close to Barmouth...unfortunately it's tired and ready for a makeover...the bedding was smelly and old...bed needs replacing it's no springs...shower trickles but does get warm...there's no WIFI as advertised no dishwasher as advertised...very little kitchen equipment...the place was filthy I had to clean before we could cook etc...the owner was away on holiday so unable to contact them to mention the issues.
