Description

This converted stone holiday cottage enjoys a peaceful setting on 57 acres of farmland and rolling countryside.

Situated just 5 minutes from Cardigan Bay and within easy reach to the whole of the beautiful Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire coastline and coastal walks, these three converted stone holiday cottages (refs OSB, OSC and OSC) are peacefully set on a farm with a selection of alpacas, donkeys, goats, ducks and chickens. The owners who live on the farm, which is set in 57 acres of rolling countryside, encourage the children to interact with the animals, and are also pleased to offer the use of a barbecue hut nicknamed the ‘Hobbit House’ by the family. Guests can hire it during their stay directly with the owners, subject to availability and for a small charge. The owner can also supply their own barbecue meat packs on request (charge payable).
Within a 15-minute drive visitors can discover quaint New Quay, famous for the bottlenose dolphins that can often be seen from the harbour (boat trips available in season). The colourful, Georgian, harbour town of Aberaeron is just a bit further up the coast road, with its chic shops and plenty of restaurants. Antique shoppers and browsers will enjoy the nearby market town of Newcastle Emlyn, and Cenarth with its waterfalls is also close by and offers indoor swimming, coracle rides, fishing and paintballing. There are numerous attractions in the area, particularly suitable for children.

Nearby is the Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park, which is set on a headland overlooking the nature reserve of Cardigan Island, home to thousands of sea birds. At the foot of the cliffs, a colony of Atlantic grey seals can be observed in their natural habitat. Spectacular coastline and wonderful views can be savoured from the NT-managed Penbryn Bay and a visit to NT Cilgerran Castle can also be enjoyed. Only the ruins remain of this striking 13th-century castle, whose vantage point overlooks the wonderful Teifi Gorge. Also nearby is the town of Cardigan with its restored medieval castle. The Teifi Valley Railway is another experience for the visitor, a 2 mile journey offers wonderful views of the valley and countryside. Golf and horse riding can also be found locally. Shops 1 mile.

The Stables (OSB), The Granary (OSC) and The Cottage (OSD) can be booked together to accommodate up to 12 guests.

Well presented holiday home. Ideal for young families, groups and couples alike. Relaxed, safe environment with the added bonus of donkeys etc. The Hobbit house is great for an evening barbecue.

Could not of wished for a nicer place to stay. It was so comfortable & peaceful and the cottage was equipt with everything you could possibly need! You do need a car to get to the beaches, but are only short drives away. Aberpoth beach. Also poppit beach nearby..plus several other local beaches & lovely walks Then a 20 min drive and you are at New Quay that's fantastic ... If you've prepared to drive a little further out you can go explore Tenby. This cottage is central to so many beaches we never got to explore them all , but New Quay we visited twice & enjoyed an amazing boat trip to see the Dolphins, We also enjoyed the animals at the cottages and enjoyed feeding the Goats , llamas & Donkeys, even a family of ducks!! When we arrived at the cottage we were amazed at how lovely it was. No doggie smells saying this is advertised has a dog friendly cottage. It was spotless !! Ann had left us flowers, cake. & fresh free range eggs from her very own chickens . The four poster bed was so comfortable And also the two single beds in the other double room. Plenty of wardrobe space in each room with built in wardrobes all equipt with coat hangers. I could go on and on about how amazing this place is so I recommend you try for yourselves and see!!

We enjoyed a fabulous stay at the stables. The cottage was perfect in every way. It was clean, comfortable, cosy yet with all the modern conveniences to make your stay comfortable. We had the added bonus of a fenced in patio which allowed us to keep the French doors open so the dogs could go in and out as they pleased. We also had the use of a large field which we could walk the dogs off their leads. The location was fantastic within easy reach of many beaches, pubs and cafes, with lovely harbour towns also relatively close. There is even a large Tesco store less than 8 miles away. The cottage is located in an area of outstanding beauty and we're already thinking about a return visit.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner - Thank you so much for your kind words. Makes it all worth while. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and considering a return visit. We now have a new addition on the farm. A baby alpaca cria so you'll have to come back to meet her.
