A good base to enjoy this lovely area

Only 200 yards from Gildredge Park bowling greens and tennis courts, ½ mile from the town centre and railway station, these spacious and elegant holiday apartments with period features in a fine Victorian house are ideal centres from which to enjoy all aspects of a really varied holiday. McSweeney (ref 3536) and Prideaux (ref 3537) have a feature marble fireplace. Eastbourne is a fine town with a Victorian pier and excellent theatres hosting national productions both musical and dramatic at the Devonshire Park and Congress Theatres. Easily reached by road via M25 and A22 and is 1½ hours by train from London. There is also an International Tennis Tournament at Devonshire Park and County Cricket at the Saffrons Sports ground, all of these venues are within walking distance of the property. The Bluebell Steam Railway and Filching Manor Motor Museum are a short drive and the South Downs are close by for walking enthusiasts.
Eastbourne now has a Marina and harbour village and there is also a fine swimming and leisure pool. Two excellent golf courses are within 1 mile, with horse riding 10 minutes drive. Sailing, windsurfing and fishing are available from the beach. Day trips to France operate from Newhaven 12 miles away. Shops and pub a short walk.

    It was twenty minutes walk from town, but we loved the walk to park just across the road. Shame we could sit outside though.

    The perfect place to enjoy a holiday with your family. The flat is comfortable, well-equipped, roomy. Walking distance from the shops, pubs, city centre, beach and train station. Buses down the street. You don't even need a car. Lovely walks. Great for shopping. Convenient to go to the surrounding towns or London. The landlady is very kind and helpful.

    Response on behalf of the owner; Regarding your recent visit to Le Brun. When the first members of your party arrived, my husband offered them 'provisions' but the offer was declined saying they would be going to the supermarket shortly, however I did provide the components for a cup of tea which was accepted. I agree that if the holiday destination is in a remote area then a welcome pack would be 'welcome' but the apartment is ten minutes walk from the town centre and three minutes walk from Waitrose supermarket and in this age of IT there is always the option of internet shopping. I spoke to your party on several occasions throughout the week and everyone seemed very happy saying how good the weather was and also the walking so I was rather surprised at your scoring.

    The flat was very spacious and very well situated for Waitrose shopping, local pubs to eat at and was very well served with buses to Eastbourne town centre and all locations to Brighton. There were plenty of places of interest a short drive away and we had a very enjoyable but very hot week
