Description

On the outskirts of Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury is close by, with its waterfronts and riverside theatre, West Midland Safari Park is well worth a visit.

These two well appointed, semi-detached bungalows (refs 26069 and 26070), lie in the hamlet of Middleton Scriven on the outskirts of Bridgnorth, the historic Shropshire town best known for being a town of two halves: the High Town with good views down which Charles I declared to be the finest in all the kingdom and the Low Town with good views up. Now connected by the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain. Bridgnorth is fortunate to have many attractions scattered around its luscious countryside. You can have an unforgettable day’s time travel; a combined journey by steam railway, and historic river ferry to a beautiful house and garden. Just a short car journey takes you to the world famous Ironbridge and its popular museums, The Royal Air Force Museum and Boscobel House. A few miles upstream of Bridgnorth is Shrewsbury, England’s finest Tudor town, which has one of the best waterfronts, a wide variety of shops, bars and a riverside theatre. Attingham Park, Benthall Hall, Dudmaston Hall, Rays Farm Country matters, Much Wenlock, West Midland Safari Park, Cleobury Mortimer and Ludlow are also well worth a visit. Golf and horse riding are available locally. Shops 5 miles, pub 2 miles.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin. Wet room with toilet.

Wheelchair access.

Both properties: Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and highchair on request. Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. Jo and Ali were extremely kind and helpful, even loaning us a national trust handbook when we discovered we had forgotten ours.

Very peaceful location. Excellent base to explore Shropshire. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and the owners very friendly and helpful. Will defiantly consider coming back for another visit, there is lots to do for all the family within 30mins of the cottage. Thank you for an excellent holiday.

An excellent spacious cottage with everything one would need for a good holiday. The location is good for visiting many sites of interest and its truly rural position is very peaceful and quiet.

Lovely, friendly owners. Clean and very spacious cottage in beautiful surroundings. Suitable for mild disability only although easy to get around in wheelchair but bathroom needs more grab rails.

Really well furnished and equipped cottage set deep into the Shropshire countryside. The surrounding towns and countryside are wonderful but there are a lot of single track roads to and from the location so don't always rely on the sat nav. We would have liked somewhere private to sit out (the garden is shared with the adjoining property) and found the beds a little hard, but these are the only negatives in a really lovely stay.

Good cottage in pretty location. Takes a bit of finding but worth the effort! There was building work in progress, creating some noise, which meant we didn't use the garden as we probably would have done and also the small table and chairs near to the french window on the cottage website was unavailable to us because of scaffolding.

Great, well designed, cottage located in very peaceful rural area of Shropshire. Lovely welcome and fantastic response to our minor improvement suggestion. Lots to do and see in the area, my 91 yr old father-in-law had a great week. It has our wholehearted recommendation.
