Description

Middleton Scriven is on the outskirts of Bridgnorth, Ironbridge, The Royal Air Force Museum and the famous Severn Valley Steam Railway are all nearby.

These three well appointed, semi-detached properties, two of which provide ground floor accommodation, and the third providing a private hot tub and open plan upside-down living, lie in the hamlet of Middleton Scriven on the outskirts of Bridgnorth, the historic Shropshire town best known for being a town of two halves: the High Town with good views down which Charles I declared to be the finest in all the kingdom, and the Low Town with good views up. They are now connected by the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain. Castle Clover and Castle Meadow enjoy shared use of an enclosed garden, however, Castle Clover also boasts a private, enclosed side garden ideal for the dog.

Bridgnorth is fortunate to have many attractions scattered around its luscious countryside. You can have an unforgettable day’s time travel; a combined journey by steam railway, and the historic river ferry to a beautiful house and garden. Just a short car journey takes you to the world famous Ironbridge and its popular museums, The Royal Air Force Museum and Boscobel House. A few miles upstream of Bridgnorth is Shrewsbury, England’s finest Tudor town, which has one of the best waterfronts, a wide variety of shops, bars and a riverside theatre. Attingham Park, Benthall Hall, Dudmaston Hall, Rays Farm Country Matters, Much Wenlock, West Midland Safari Park, Cleobury Mortimer and Ludlow are also well worth a visit. Golf and horse riding are available locally. Shops 5 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

We had a brilliant week away at castle clover, our first family holiday with a 4 month old so we wanted somewhere well equipped and home from home which is exactly what we got. The owners are lovely and very helpful and the location is perfect for exploring the beautiful surrounding areas and towns. We are thinking of heading back again later in the year.

Lovely stay at Castle Clover. The cottage/lodge was immaculately clean and had everything we possibly could have needed (and if there wasn't, Jo was more than happy to help us out!) Comfy sofas, comfy bed and a good shower too! Beautiful and relaxing spot but definitely need a car to get to a range of different towns, pubs and activities- which there were lots nearby. Thanks for a lovely stay- a home from home with an 8 week year old!

Castle Clover is well equipped, warm, clean and comfortable. Plenty of space for the two of us.We enjoyed our stay in early October, blessed with sunshine all week. Narrow rural roads were exceptionally quiet, except for the odd flock of sheep on them! The owners are friendly and welcoming without being at all intrusive

Lovely place to stay with so much to do and visit nearby with regard to great countryside walks and historical interests. Also a good central location to get to the interesting towns and villages in the area. Maybe a little more limited close by from a gastronomic focus, but for us we found very good food nearby that suited us really well. The kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed staying in to eat most nights after being out all day. We found Castle Clover very comfortable and clean with everything we needed for a very enjoyable holiday. We look forward to staying here again.
