Description

Enjoy an active holiday from this spacious lochside property which has its own private shore and fishing from the jetty.

Carsaig is an immaculately-presented, detached holiday cottage in an unrivalled setting on the shore of Loch Venacher in the heart of the Trossachs National Park. The holiday property is set in 3 acres of grounds which lead down to a private lochside beach and jetty with fantastic views across the loch and the surrounding hillside and Trossachs. Carsaig offers spacious and cosy accommodation and makes a wonderful base from which to venture out with friends and family to enjoy the area and all it has to offer. Guests are welcome to bring their own unpowered craft which can be launched from the beach. Fishing for brown trout and pike is available in the pristine loch water from the jetty, and tuition and ghillies’ services are available from the harbour café just a short walk from the cottage. Wildlife is abundant including red squirrels, red kites and ospreys as well as local birds which are frequent visitors. There are endless miles of forest roads, cycle tracks and footpaths through woodlands and around the loch. For the more adventurous, there are hills and mountains to climb such as Ben Ledi, Ben Venue and Ben A’an. This area is ideal for golfing with several local courses close by, and the famous Gleneagles course is only 40 minutes’ drive. The bustling Highland town of Callander, with a variety of quaint shops, tearooms, restaurant and bars, is only 5 minutes’ drive and ideal for sourcing supplies. After exploring the local area, unwind in the hot tub or relax on the decking with a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery. Within an easy drive is Stirling, 30 minutes, whilst Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth are 11/2 hours. Shop 4 miles, pub 2 miles, restaurant 100 yards.

A beautiful comfortable family home in the most spectacular setting. We loved every minute of the holiday and I could never tire of that view! We brought our dog along and it was perfect for her too. Our boys especially loved the hot tub! A beautiful place and a fantastic holiday.

Beautiful spacious cottage with stunning views of the loch and mountains. Privacy and tranquillity quaranteed. Bathrooms and beds are spotless but there are areas needing extra cleaning attention.

Lovely dog friendly house in fabulous location. So nice we are going back in summer time. Would recommend this house for couples wanting excellent accommodation with 5 star dining next door. Grounds totally private with its own jetty.

It was expensive since there were only two of us staying plus 2 dogs but the house was everything I would want - really comfy beds with quality linen, great showers, comfortable furniture, excellent all round views and a very well equipped kitchen. The garden was enormous and the hot tub an added luxury. This is easily the best cottage we have used. It was easy to find, just a couple of miles out of Callandar on a good road. The only reservation I have is that we couldn't find walks for the dogs straight from the house first thing in the morning, although that was not such an issue because of the big garden. It was really peaceful - the quiet only broken twice daily by the arrival of the sea plane to the restaurant next door - looked as if it was parked at the bottom of our garden. Brilliant.
