This Cottage is brought to you by:

English Country Cottages

From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

This cottage is perfect for families wanting to enjoy a coastal holiday, with a sandy beach just 250 yards away.

Only a 250-yard walk from the beautiful sandy beach of Whitesand Bay, this charming little row of three delightful and comfortably furnished holiday cottages commands magnificent views over the bay and Sennen Cove . On a quiet lane leading only to the cliffs, they have been very tastefully converted from a spacious Victorian house and are stunningly set in several acres of shared natural grounds; home to a wonderful variety of wildlife which can easily be seen from the steep beach path and the cottages themselves.
The beach at Whitesand is magnificent; a splendid mile of sand which has been awarded Blue Flag status and is excellent for surfing (lifeguards operate throughout the summer, and there is also a ban on dogs from 1st May to 30th September. Dogs are permitted year round on nearby Gwenver Beach). Sennen Cove (½ mile) is a picturesque little fishing village looking out over the bay. It offers shops, pub, restaurants – even a lifeboat station – all within walking distance. There are some beautiful walks along the coast towards Cape Cornwall in one direction, and beyond Land’s End in the other.
The famous outdoor Minack Theatre is only 3 miles away and Penzance (7 miles) boasts a mainline station, shops, inns, swimming-pool, sailing and tennis. There is a golf course at St Just (4 miles) and facilities for squash and badminton are available locally. Picturesque St Ives (a renowned haunt of artists) is 15 miles away along the spectacular north coast.
The Carn Towan cottages are perfectly positioned for enjoying a Cornish holiday – and are cosily heated throughout, with double glazing, making them ideal for all-year-round breaks. Shops ½ mile.

This two-storey cottage is set next to Longships in the little row. Entrance into well-equipped kitchen. Living/dining room with multi-fuel stove and sea view. Cloakroom with toilet. First floor: Three bedrooms; one double with sea view, one bunk (full-size bunks) with wash basin and one single room with wash basin. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

We have stayed here whenever we can book it! Brilliant location - the best views over sennen beach and harbour with lands end only a 30 minute walk away. Great holiday cottage with everything needed. Beach on doorstep via private footpath that takes only 5 minutes walking down to beach (walking back will take a little longer as path quite steep but very manageable) always made to feel welcome by the owners. Locals very friendly. Good pub and cafe in the harbour area. Good for an active holiday or just relaxing in a place where the views change constantly over the beach and sea from your window. Right on. Next to the coastal path with amazing walks on doorstep.

Everything was just perfect. The views were stunning (the fact the garden was shared with others didn't seem to be a problem to myself and other dog owners) and it is located near so many beautiful spots. The house was clean, tidy and very comfortable (and we appreciated the bottle of wine and milk on arrival). I note the comments about the main bed that previous occupants have left. I didn't have a problem as I was alone in that bed but I imagine another person my size next to me might have been a tight squeeze! Enjoyed the holiday so much that I have already booked a return visit for next year. Highly recommended.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. The bed is a UK “standard double” (4'6” x 6'3”). I have no trouble sleeping in it beside my wife; I'm 6'2” and lie straight but with my head close to the headboard, obviously. If there were enough space, I would be glad to install a “king size” bed (5' x 6'6”) as I have in the other cottages at Carn Towan, Bishop Rock and Longships. Very tall visitors might like to consider these alternative properties, they share the same view.

This is a great little cottage, in a great location. it's well equipped with reasonable sized bedrooms (two have their own sinks - oddly not the master bedroom though) The kitchen is nicely laid out with just about everything you'll need. When the fog clears you get a great view from the house and garden across the cove and even when the sea is a bit rough the noise isn't intrusive, it's just there in the background. The beach is a walkable distance, if you don't mind the very steep and twisty path, it's a bit of hike going back up again though! A note on this, the beach isn't open for dogs all year round, it seems the signs have been replaced recently as the info folder states no dogs during the day from Easter till september (I forget the exact date) however the signs state no dogs during the day from May 1st onwards Anyone going here must (it should be law) visit the Fish and Chip shop (190 degrees) great food and reasonably priced with good sized portions. The local market (tuesdays behind the school) is well worth a visit. Being as close as this to lands end it's well worth a walk there.
