Description

Cardinal Cottage can be decorated at Christmas if you fancy a peaceful retreat for the festive season. The babbling brook makes it an attractive summer location too.

This fine timber framed 16th century cottage has been lovingly restored to offer a very good standard of accommodation in rural Suffolk. Bordered by a brook and boasting a delightful garden, it adjoins the owners’ home in the pretty hamlet of Sibton opposite the village pub, which serves great food. Its location is excellent for families, walkers, cyclists and bird watchers alike – the elegant seaside resort of Southwold, well known for its summer theatre and pier, is just 13 miles away as is Aldeburgh, whose famous fish and chip shops and restaurants feature the best of the local seafood. The concert hall, arts and craft shops at Snape Maltings, RSPB Minsmere, Dunwich Heath and beach, Orford Castle and the crabbing competitions at the pretty coastal village of Walberswick are all within a short drive. Shop 0.5 miles.

We had a lovely short break at Cardinal Cottage. The owners did everything possible to make it comfortable and welcoming for us and for our dog. The surrounding area is great for walking and a short drive gets you to various beaches, plus other areas of interest.

We stayed over Christmas and the cottage was just right! Warm and cosy and more than made up for the wet weather and muddy footpaths! The little extras were a lovely touch and the Christmas decorations just right making it festive but not taking too much space. Thank you!

Thanks you Jan and Eric for a warm welcome to your beautiful cottage. Loved the thoughtful fresh bread, butter, milk, jam and bottle of fizz x You thought of everything and it was certainly home from home. Great peaceful location and we so enjoyed visiting all our old haunts. Would certainly recommend to anyone wanting a comfortable warm cottage.
