Ideal base for exploring the countryside

The properties were once used as a clay drying facility and are part of the rich China Clay heritage of Cornwall. The fishing village of Padstow is easily accessible. Newquay, with its excellent surfing beaches is approximately 12 miles away, and close by is Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, ’Fifteen’. The ancient fishing port of Fowey is within 10 miles and was the home to ’Daphne Du Maurier’; it has many events throughout the year such as the Du Maurier Festival and the Fowey Royal Reggatta. Bodmin Moor is also close by and provides an excellent location for horse riding, walking and mountain biking. We stayed over Christmas. Cottage was welcoming, and clean. No issues other than the electric seemed a bit expensive - £45 for 5 days! Would stay again though.

Great place to stay; Very clean and tidy; Plenty of space; Local area not the prettiest, but great location for driving to different locations in Cornwall, and only a few minutes drive from a lovely beach at Carlyon Bay.

The property was very roomy and clean a little far from the amenities. yes the pub and shop is only 1 mile away but road to risky to walk was always a drive out. The only complaint I have is that the cutlery was poor quality and s it had been put through the dishwasher damaged and unhygienic. Needs replacing with dishwasher safe set

lovely large holiday home for a family. Our hosts were lovely and advised us some excellent places to visit . The location was not the prettiest in Cornwall but very good to drive either north or south and was excellent for a lot of the attractions including only 4 miles to the Eden project and some great beaches. We would definitely recommend to others

Reasonable Base. Good overall space. Downstairs is dark. Outside space could be improved to the standard of the cottages at the entry to the park. Heating facilities not adequate when cold particularly downstairs. Washing and dryer facilities were poor, expensive and not comfortable to wait for washing. We have had better value in many other places in Cornwall.

I stayed in the 4 bed apartment (2 couples plus 4 children). It was ideal as there was plenty of space for us not to be falling over each other. The children loved the small play area outside, and as we could watch them from the balcony the parents loved this too! Wifi reception is limited, which was actually a blessing as it kept kids off their ipads. There is a small Coop less than 2 miles up the road which was handy. We also visited the Wheal Martyn Clay Museum during our stay, which then helped us make sense of the building we were staying in. A visit to Charlestown is worth it if your kids like rockpooling and there is a Smugglers Museum there too. All in all it was an ideal apartment for our group with enough to do in surrounding area to keep us occupied for the week.
