My wife and I had a lovely week at Captains Row,as there were only two of us we had plenty of room,it may be a bit awkward with only one bathroom and toilet with six people. Also with the stairs being steep, and the front door opening on to the road you would need to be careful with young children ,but for us it was perfect, although a bit expensive for two people.

Captains Row is a lovely comfortable property, perfectly situated for both the quay and the shops/resturants in the town centre but in a nice quiet street. It was very clean and comfortable with a nice private garden. There is so much to do in the area, from costal walks and lovely towns to the countryside of the new forest. I would definitely recommend this property and we will definitely be visiting the area again, as there is still so much left to see and do.

A lovely house in a fantastic location. However, it could be so much better. It appears that the house has been equipped and furnished from house clearances and charity shops. I have never seen an older cooker! Screws going through walls to hold up shelves etc. In saying that, would I stay there again, definitely yes. But only due to location, location, location!

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments and I am glad that you enjoyed your stay in our 'lovely house' and also that you would 'definitely stay again'. As you are probably aware the house is quite old and was built around 1750 so we have furnished the house with antique and vintage furniture where possible, together with some new items such as sofas and beds. All the appliances have been purchased new and indeed the cooker was bought new in 2010. But as there are so many fabulous restaurants, pubs and cafés within a few minutes walk the cooker has hardly been used.

A super place. With six in our party, only one bathroom was a negative. Otherwise we'll probably go again.
