The beds were very comfortable and the cottage had everything you could want. The spiders were exceptionally busy and cobwebs kept appearing!! The photo of the cottage is a little misleading as it is exceptionally close to a busy road. Ballinrobe is a bit run down and not very attractive but the closeness of the supermarket was very convenient. However, we would certainly stay there agian if ever in that region.

From the outside and the sourronding landscape was amazing, the first look on the inside was also cosy, but you better not look twice. The beauty of the Irish landscape put us at ease. Unfortunately it was dirty (f.e. strangers hairs on many places in the house, much of dust, the pillows and the blankets are very smelly and so on...) The sink in the kitchen does not work (very interesting for dishwashing) the fireplace did not work, the sofa is only for two little people (sorry but we are no dwarfs) and instead you had to sit on playmobil chairs, the bed was broken on the back, the fridge was so dirty we had to clean it, and for a self catering lodge with up to four people the offer of pans and pots are modest. We stayed two times in Killaloe at the Lakeside View and that was amazing but Cappacurry Lodge was an One Time Adventure, only the beautyfull overlook and Ireland itself safed us from runaway...Hope next time we had more luck...

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; My wife and I cleaned and prepared the house in advance of the guest’s arrival. I spoke to the guest on the phone and explained where to access the key and that all the other details were printed and on the kitchen table. I explained that the stove could not be used due to a delay in getting a spare part but that central heating was available for both heating and water. She said that was fine. I received no complaint at all during the stay. Both beds were made up with freshly laundered linen. We use duvets and not blankets. The sofa is a two-seater and the others are 3 easy chairs, low yes but certainly no playmobil plus plenty of cushions. The bed was certainly not broken and if it was it would still be as I have done nothing to either bed or seen the need to, which is more important. There was no problem before or after with the kitchen sink, but interestingly I had to reattach a wash hand basin to the wall when I came to prepare for the next guests. Our system for cleaning is straightforward, we start with the ensuite in second bedroom and clean through to the back door, stripping and preparing beds as we go. The fridge most certainly was not dirty upon their arrival. There are ample saucepans (4) and frying pans (2) plus casserole dishes, a two oven cooker and microwave.
