Set in an AONB overlooking a picturesque trout stream where guests have the chance to fish!

This 17th-century Cotswold mill is delightfully situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking a picturesque trout stream in the beautiful grounds of the owner’s home. There is a large exclusive garden, streamside patio and fishing for guests. It rests in the peaceful valley below historic Painswick, within easy reach of Cheltenham, Bath and Stratford. Shops in village. Guests and families have been staying in the cottage for over 33 years.

Cleverly converted with open stonework inner walls, elm beams and charming furnishings, making this an attractive and unusual holiday home. Spacious, bright, open-plan beamed room with dining area, pine furniture and dresser. Comfortable sitting area, with inglenook and wood-burning stove. Convenient U-shaped kitchenette. Two solid elm open-tread staircases lead (1) down to hall with original Cotswold flagstones on floor: Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Excellent location to explore the Cotswolds. Beautiful cottage in classic surrounding.

We had a very enjoyable week. It was a beautiful spot and the cottage had everything we could want. The owners were very helpful but not intrusive. We hope to go back again sometime. The only comment I would make is that it was ideal for the two of us but I would not have liked to sleep in the bedroom on the third floor as it was a long way down to the bathroom.

A very lovely location owned by two of the nicest people, I strongly recommend this cottage.

Nice owners. Very narrow steep roads and walking to shop was a real chore. Paying electricity on top of bill was unusual.

Excellent accommodation with fabulous walking right from the front door, stayed for two thoroughly enjoyable weeks here.

The 'Mill' was in a lovely spot and was therefore relaxing. The owners were very near by but were not intrusive but helpful and friendly. We found it quite central for all we wanted to do. We were happy with the space inside for the three of us, although felt that for more it might be a little too cosy!

The location is beautiful and the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. However the Mill is on three floors and the only bathroom and toilet is on the ground floor. The second flight of stairs is rather steep and require careful negotiation hardly ideal for the infirm or the very young. The access roads are narrow and require caution and many of the footpaths have sections which are rights of way across private land. Painswick is a fascinating, historic place but it lacks facilities.
