This stylish, detached, converted barn is just a few hundred yards from the heart of Chipping Campden

This stylish, detached, converted barn is just a few hundred yards from the heart of Chipping Campden. As the main town in the north-western area of the Cotswolds of high hills and secluded coomb (with its magnificent ’wool’ church, wide market street and beautiful buildings that span at least five centuries), this would make the perfect base from which to tour and explore. With an acre of grounds and ample parking for visitors, Campden Barn offers a high level of comfort with limestone flooring in bathrooms and underfloor heating on both floors of the property.
The magnificent gardens of Kiftsgate Court and Hidcote Manor - with its lovely views over the Vale of Evesham - are not to be missed, as well as many other National Trust properties in the locality; Stratford-upon-Avon (approximately 8 miles), shops, restaurants and pubs, 200 yards.

Great location. My brother described the barn as a Tardis - more space inside than it would appear. The two gallery bedrooms can get vey hot - so you need the fans provided. An accessible shower downstairs would be a big plus - one of the baths could easily be converted into a walk in shower. The kitchen is well equipped with most things you need. It was safe for our dog to wander outside but a gate would have been better.

a well equipped house with the amenities as advertised. Badly let down by total neglect of the garden which was nearly unusable with brambles and waist high thistles and stinging nettles. I note on a previous posted review this has been put down to the farmers reluctance to mow while the house is occupied but the maintenance of the garden must be the owner's total responsibility.

Lovely place with nice internal spaces. Well laid out and caters for children with toys and stair gates etc. I did feel that maintenance is needed throughout and where it had been done it was not to the standard that I would expect or what was originally there. Bathrooms / tap showers etc were loose or badly repaired which unfortunately let the quality appeal down for me as these areas should be an easy standard to meet to ensure the quality appeal that this lovely place deserves. However this did not stand in the way of me enjoying my time and everybody views things differently. My family had a great time and I would stay there again

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay, I am happy to confirm that subsequent to your visit two new shower units have been installed. Many thanks for your feedback.

Super place with loads of room for family members to spread. Very well equipped with a stair gate for each set of stairs. A home from home.

Advertising that the property has a paddock we felt was mis-leading as it was so overgrown with nettles and other vegetation that is was unusable and apparently to keep the area cut they put sheep in when again you would be unable to use it. There were no drawers in the double bedrooms to put your clothes except for a small plastic container, we had to keep our clothes that couldn't be hung up in the suitcase on the floor. Although a microwave was supplied there was only one microwaveable jug that could be used. The dishwasher didn't have a cutlery basket and the dinner plates were too large to use in the dishwasher. Outside there was a large amount of rubbish that I presume was fly tipping but had obviously been there for some time. This should be removed as it detracts from the entrance of the property. The house was very spacious and clean and the location was perfect. We had an enjoyable week walking in the Cotswolds.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; As commented by previous guests, the paddock usually offers great entertainment. However, the farmer does not mow the grass whilst guests are staying; the recent 100% occupancy at the Barn meant that the grass did grow too long. The paddock has now been trimmed. The modern dishwasher has a specific top drawer for cutlery (hence no basket is required) and the plates fit on the lower shelf. As mentioned in the guest book the manageress is more than happy to answer such queries during a stay to ensure no misunderstandings. The unfortunate fly tipping on the drive leading to the Barn has now been cleared away.

Great place to stay, gives a feeling of seclusion with only a short walk into the centre of chipping campden. Driveway needs tiding up, piles of rubbish left laying around. Would be good to have recycling facilities.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thanks for the feedback. The unfortunate fly tipping on the drive leading to the Barn has now been cleared away.

Beautiful spacious home with all equipment required for a home from home! We even toasted marshmallows over the fire pit one night! Had the zip wire been up and running it will have been the icing on the cake. What a beautiful place.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Many thanks for the positive feedback. The fire pit is a new addition and has been great fun.

Lovely barn conversion but very hot upstairs and heating controls for underfloor heating were not very responsive. Well equipped and comfortable with a good location but with Patio insecure, we would not use again.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; The patio leads on to the paddock which you are also free to make use of. The paddock itself is fenced. As with all underfloor heating it slowly heats the core of the house, setting the thermostats too high does not heat the Barn quicker but would result in the Barn becoming too warm.

The barn is like a tardis, from the outside we were not sure we would all fit but once through the doors it was both large and luxurious. The location was also great with lots of pubs, bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance and a short drive to other beautiful Cotswold villages.
