Luxuriously furnished, the West Wing has been converted in to private, self-catering accommodation, with spacious rooms that retain all of the original character of the period (1837), including original fireplaces and beautiful décor, and all bedrooms overlook the breathtaking grounds. Described as a home from home, you can expect a warm welcome from us, whilst enjoying both the enormous suite and exquisite grounds. Calthwaite Hall also plays host to a stunning flock of ducks, peacocks and swans, the perfect companions for a stroll around the grounds. In addition, explore our secret garden and paddock, including an equestrian school for guests with their own horses. Should you wish to venture further afield, local attractions include Centre Parks and Rheged visitor centre. Ullswater is only a 15 mile scenic drive away, and the Eden Valley and Scottish borders is within driving distance. There is also a local pub in the village which offers both delicous bar meals and great hospitality. The grandeur of this pied-a-terre truly must be seen to be believed. If anyone is looking for a perfect luxury holiday apartment and wants something unique - This is the property for them! The property was booked as a luxury retreat and exceeded all our expectations. I will be recommending this property to others and hope to book again soon. The location is perfect for those wanting a luxury property close to the lakes but do not want to stay in a crowded town.
