It’s a small rustic gite, the accommodation is as described but when it says steep steps to the garden this actually means steep steps up to the Gite from the only entrance.
We have been staying in Gites all over France for many years and would consider ourselves experienced travellers, such that nowadays we tend to carry with us the accoutrements that we know we will need that make our life easier and are not always present in holiday accommodation. We did use some of our “kit” but the kitchen did have most items, the microwave/grill is rather large and the fridge and washing machine fine , the cooker has four burners and is small but adequate the oven took some getting used to as it seemed to have only two temperatures volcanic or cool, however there is no free storage space in the kitchen (and in the rest of the gite come to that) and what there is, is full of “stuff” a declutter would work wonders, leaving some staples, salt, sugar washing up liquid etc. is laudable but leaving a full store cupboard is odd.
The dining room kitchen is pleasant albeit dark, we needed the lights to be on all day, the main living area is fine and much brighter although as the weather was so good we spent most of our stay with the door open. Added bonus (distraction?) of UK Freeview TV, and the Gite was chosen as it had that modern day necessity of Wi-Fi, (one wonders if that 2 room “rustic” Gite in the laungedoc from 1989 has Wi-Fi or even electricity yet?) so downstairs all good, the bedroom was, as described, up a steep staircase, and the main bed area was perfectly acceptable, the 3rd bed was in the same area and not separate, not a problem for us as a couple. Bed was comfortable and the room was light and airy.
The bathroom was adequate and everything worked, however the pitch of the roof and layout took some getting used to, and the shower curtain could be a bit of a fight at times.
The property is as mentioned perfectly acceptable, parking is tight (in front of the substation box) and once found (we missed the sign and the gate the first time) is perfectly secluded.
We had an enjoyable stay, although we will probably not revisit as we are currently in that period of being between children and grandchildren so are revisiting areas of France where we have been before avec famille.
