We had a lovely stay, the views were fantastic even in rainy weather! Shops close by, swimming and cinema in Greenock and lots to do - boats, trains to Glasgow (with a very cheap day tripper ticket) and a warm cosy comfy bed to come home to!

Very out dated...shower cubicle very small. Damp smell when we got there. The views were amazing though

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; It is a pity that this guest had only booked for a 2 night stay and those 2 nights’ weather was like winter with rain and winds, however the lovely comments left in the visitor book were much appreciated and I noted the guest intends to return for a longer stay the next time – that answers it all. I am glad the views from inside and outside the cottage were appreciated, they truly are magnificent. The binoculars which are supplied and left by me in the cottage for everyone to use are appreciated by all, and comments and thank you cards have been left to say they enjoyed watching the submarines sailing past and the dolphins swimming, not to mention the ferry boats coming and going. As recognized by most visitors the cottage offers a warm, comfortable setting which enables complete relaxation, to chill out, with everything you could need for a holiday. There are plenty things to see and do in and around Gourock. The word “outdated” has different meanings to each individual and a 2 night stay really isn’t long enough to allow anyone to appreciate the cottage’s tasteful decoration and style, but I am sure when the guest returns on their next holiday, they will be too busy enjoying their stay that they won’t see the style of decoration which I and other visitors like and prefer.

Had a great stay at Caleview Cottage in June. It was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The kitchen had all we needed to prepare our meals. The location was great! From the cottage we could walk to parks, the co-op, train, ferry, Gourock town center. And the view was fabulous! When at the house we spent a lot of time sitting on the front patio or inside at the living room window, relaxing and enjoying the view. I recommend Caleview to anyone staying in the Gourock/Greenock area.

We did enjoy our stay . It was cosy, yet a little cool. The heating was not high enough. The month of July was a little chilly. I was disappointed that we didn't see the owners until we were leaving . Not a good welcome. The kitchen needed a good thorough clean. Having said all that we would stay again we liked it. It could be made really nice with a little T.l.C.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for the 2 lovely feedback paragraphs which you and your visitors left at the cottage. It suggests you enjoyed your stay at Caleview and appreciated the breath taking views it offers. Regarding your comments about the heating, there are 3 storage heaters and if guests don’t turn them up then this may be why it felt cold. I have also now added another two portable heaters that guests can move to anywhere they require in the property. As the cottage is professionally cleaned before and after every booking, I find it difficult to understand your comments saying the kitchen needed a good clean especially as the visitors before your booking commented on how clean and cosy the cottage was. My cottage receives an abundance of TLC and attention in order that all visitors are given the opportunity to relax, enjoy their stay, and appreciate the dynamic views and of course to spread the word to other holidaymakers. It is not always possible to meet visitors on their arrival but as you state we had a lovely 30 minute chat at the end of your holiday. When you return on a second holiday visit you must invite me over for a coffee and you can show me those photos which you took with your camera, in particular the one of the sunset across the River Estuary. You can always send me a photo meantime as I would love to have a copy. All the best to you.
