Overlooking the Caledonian Canal, stunning, detached family house with wood-burning stove, ideal for forest trails, and Great Glen Way.

In an elevated position with wonderful views over the Caledonian Canal to the mountains beyond, this detached house makes an ideal holiday base for exploring the Highlands and the Western Isles. Fort William is the nearest town with an array of shops, bars and restaurants and the area is known as the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’. Outdoor activities include mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, climbing, fishing, horse-riding, golf and a variety of water sports. The magnificent scenery has been used as the backdrop for many well known films including Braveheart and Rob Roy, whilst the West Highland Steam Train (seasonal) passes the Glenfinnan Viaduct as depicted in one of the Harry Potter movies. Wildlife is in abundance and offers the chance to spot golden eagles, deer, otters, porpoises and dolphins. There are plenty of beautiful gardens and ruined castles to be visited and the area is famous for its rich historical legacy. For a more relaxed pace, watch the boats sail through the Caledonian Canal, take a trip up Aonach Mor in a gondola or wander around a network of forest trails, the Great Glen Way, canal paths and shoreline, simply enjoying the natural beauty of this stunning location. Glencoe, Oban, Loch Ness, Inverness and the Isle of Skye are easily accessible. Shop and pub 3½ miles.

The house was fabulous, everything we wanted, peace and quiet, yet not to far away from local shops etc, we were left a lovely welcome package by the owners, overall it is a beautiful house, and I would recommend it to anyone, I spoke to the owner Mrs Kirkpatrick a few days before, and she was lovely to chat to, only one downside, and that was the bins, they hadn't been emptied for the first 4 days and we struggled to find disposal options, a little more information needed on that, but this didn't spoil anything.

Lovely cottage, all you could need, and a wonderful welcome pack. The showers need some attention, holes in pipes making water squirt out in odd places, and one wouldn`t stay in its upright position, but easy fixes. Cottage is in a wonderful position and we all enjoyed our stay there

It was a lovely cottage, very well equipped & comfortable. We had a lovely, relaxing time in a gorgeous stop. However, I don't feel it was cleaned well while the bedrooms & bathrooms were clean the floor in the lounge & kitchen weren't. The chairs round the table were dirty & sticky. I did feel I had to clean the kitchen before I could use it. Apart from this it hasn't put us off going there again.
