Description

Cae Gwyrdd sits in open countryside, yet only a mile from Aberporth’s two blue flag awarded beaches

Nestled on the outskirts of the popular seaside village of Aberporth, Cae Gwyrdd (meaning Green Field) is perfectly located in a peaceful setting surrounded by open countryside, yet only a mile from Aberporth’s two blue flag awarded beaches. This spacious 3 bedroom bungalow has been lovingly decorated and styled throughout to provide superb accommodation for families or couples and is also pet friendly. The property enjoys a splendid outlook over tranquil farmland and even boasts sea views in the distance. The fully equipped kitchen provides all you will need for your stay, but may not be used thanks to so many lovely pubs and restaurants nearby. Patio doors lead out from the living room onto the decking area and then down to the large lawn garden - an ideal spot to light a BBQ and dine alfresco. The Sun Room provides a delightful second sitting room, which also enjoys the same beautiful outlook. Sit back and watch the passing wildlife - buzzards and red kites are frequent visitors here. A circular walk passes nearby and leads down to the village - Aberporth, a popular and sought after holiday destination on the Cardigan Bay Heritage Coast, is home to shops, a post office, cafes, two pubs, restaurant, takeaways and leisure centre. The Ship Inn is a dog friendly and welcoming place to eat, drink and relax - sit under the heated terrace to enjoy the views of the sea and maybe spot a dolphin!

This cottage has so much going for it lovely views, pleasant sitting/dining room, nice bedrooms, large enclosed garden, quiet position. But the cottage needs a good clean, and a deep clean in the bathroom. The kitchen needs some attention especially the cooker which is so old the National Trust would love it, I did not. The garden needs a good tidy up it looks very uncared for. Having said that the owners were extremely concerned when I had a problem with the heating and hot water and kept in constant touch until it was repaired and even after that to ensure all was well. I would love to go back but not until the cottage is brought up to a higher standard.

Great house in a wonderful location! The bad: The garden was slightly overgrown and not 100% secure, the toilet didn’t flush very well and the sun room had a very strong smoke smell. Follow the instructions to reach the property and you’ll have no issues. The good: The property has fantastic views, the house itself is wonderful. Unexpectedly quiet in the house, noise doesn’t travel as well as one would think. Location wise it is perfect for morning/evening scenic walks and brilliant for travelling to local areas. Plenty of wildlife, loads of things to do. Would recommend to friends and would return, the positives outweigh the negatives!

The cottage is very tired looking and in need of decoration. Wallpaper hanging off in the living room. Not totally dog friendly as they have to stay in the sun room and not allowed in the cottage itself. The bed we had to use didn't have a fitted sheet just a small sheet that barely covered the mattress. The wash hand basin in the bedroom was hanging off the wall and the shelf in the oven didn't fit correctly and kept on collapsing. The garden is a mess, you can't get down the steps to the cottage easily due to overgrown bushes and the overgrown grass wasn't cut until after a week we had been there. Basically the cottage isn't looked after and in need of TLC.
