Cottage much bigger than it looked on the web site photo's. Well equipped kitchen. Great location. A nice touch would be to include the first evening's worth of fire wood/coal as many other cottages we've stayed at have provided. It was our first time staying on Lewis/Harris and can't wait to go back again.

Excellent all round, very comfortable and every conceivable item was there, including a torch. The cooker was a bit old, but we didn't use that.

Living room was cost. Main bedroom needs a facelift. Linen, especially towels, well past it.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for booking Caberfeidh Cottage and I am glad you enjoyed your stay in South Lochs. However, your Rating of 3 is totally inconsistent with the other ratings, and in the six years since this property has been listed by, there has not been a lower Rating that 7. This property was inspected by the Area Manager recently and found to meet all of the stringent requirements. Lastly all the linen was replaced in 2014 and in the light of you comment again this year, before we checked the linen, and found they didn't need replacing.

The cottage was very comfortable and easy to heat. The location was beautiful. A plumbing problem during our stay was dealt with swiftly. The weather was very wet, and a tumble dryer would have been useful.

The cottage is very comfortable and when we arrived we could feel it was really cosy! It is well equipped and felt very ' home from home'. It is in a lovely setting overlooking a loch & a lovely sunset over it. There are a few cottages round about but it is very quiet. The only downside, there is not any wifi or phone signal there. Also it is 11 miles from the main road ( some of it single track). None of this mattered to us but its good to know in advance. s

The cottage is beautifully located with wonderful views and is very peaceful. It has perhaps become a little tired compared to the photos on the website and, in particular, the towels and bedding could either do with being renewed or guests should be asked to provide their own. The welcome presents of wine and shortbread were a nice touch.

The cottage was lovely and in a beautiful location with a view of Loch Marvig. Marvig is a good base to explore Lewis & Harris. The cottage was nicely furnished and had everything we needed. The only comment I would make for future improvements would be a blackout blind for the downstairs' bedroom as the curtains do not entirely cover the window and are very thin. I struggled to sleep as it is too light in the height of summer.

Great location. Very quiet. Cottage was larger inside than I expected. The stairs are fairly steep. Stair gates provided if needed. Was very clean & well equipped.
