We had strong winds while we were there which revealed just how drafty the place was. So although the heating was on it was quite cold upstairs - especially in the bathroom - when the wind was blowing. The walls are thin so you hear people from next door. The kitchen floor was not clean. The sitting room is comfortable and has lovely views. Couldn't get the downstairs TV to work. We could not use the backdoor because it was broken and had not been repaired. I rang on the evening we arrived to ask for the back door key. The call was returned next day, to say the key had been hidden so we couldn't attempt to open the door. There was no note to explain the situation. I am sure we would have enjoyed it more in better weather - though we wouldn't have been able to use the garden.

Response on behalf of the Owner; I am so sorry about the situation you encountered with the doors: the enjoyment and wellbeing of guests is an absolute priority. Unfortunately, the extent of the problem meant that the doors needed replacing completely and couldn’t be used in the interim for safety reasons. As soon as the problem was brought to our attention, guests were informed and alternatives offered. The cottage now has brand new doors. With regards to any problem or concern that guests have, help is only a phone-call away and we will always do our best to solve any issue immediately and to the complete satisfaction of those staying.

The cottage is well kept, quiet, clean and has everything you could possibly need. Really liked the kitchen downstairs and living room upstairs, makes the most of the view. The downside of staying somewhere this remote in November is that the pub and cafe are closed but I would imagine in the summer it’s great, everything on your doorstep. My only niggles would be that in the living room it is hard for someone like me with a visual impairment to distinguish the step down before the stairs. Also the pillows are a bit hard.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you very much for taking the time to write your review. I am glad you liked the cottage and the layout and enjoyed your stay. Things are definitely quieter in November, but I hope you found it a very atmospheric and special time of the year, like I do, and I hope the recommendations of where you could go were useful, even though they are not right on the doorstep. I will check on the step and pillows.

We had a lovely stay. Cottage has a gorgeous view and is very comfortable. The local beach and coastal path was fabulous and hot chocolate at the local cafe after a morning on the beach a highlight!

This is the best cottage we've ever had on holiday. Clean, well-appointed and spacious - definitely well thought-through. Views of the sea from the cottage were lovely. The kitchen had a good range of implements and cleaning tools. Comfortable kids' twin bedroom, could do with a few more hangers that's all. Distinct lack of tasteless ornaments and clutter which I really appreciated! Great to have a shower room downstairs, meant the kids could wash their sandy feet as soon as they got in. Washer-dryer was really helpful, too. Nice details with the lighting - light up mirrors, stairs lighting and plenty of lamps made a lovely evening atmosphere. Comfy sofas in the lounge and a really nicely done master bedroom and ensuite. It's the little things that count, like having a mirror which is close to a power point for drying your hair! The cottage is a walk from the beach (there's a short-cut at the caravan park) where there is a great little cafe, the Wavecrest - and toilets. It really is a fab place and very thoughtfully done. The owner obviously cares that her visitors will enjoy their break.

Nearly everything wonderful again- really would recommend it BUT the lawn hadn't been cut and nettles and thistles were growing, some through the decking. Not ideal for the kids. Wouldn't stop us coming back as been there before when it was fine, but owner would benefit from staying on top of this.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. Hi Steve. Lovely to hear that this is not your first visit to the cottage and thank you for drawing my attention to the neatness of the garden. This has never before been an issue and I will make sure that it is followed up. I do hope you will return again.
