This single-storey property is hidden away within truly magnificent and peaceful scenery, yet just 4 miles from Stirling.

Stunning scenery

Only 4 miles from the historic city of Stirling, yet hidden away in a truly magnificent and peaceful rural scenery means a perfect location for year-round holidays. Osprey Hideaways overlooks the owners’ own 120-acre loch where ospreys can be seen feeding most days in season. 300ft high cliffs frame the far side of the water, making the views genuinely stunning. All the cottages are furnished to a very high boutique standard and provide excellent accommodation for couples or family groups. A welcome pack is provided including a bottle of bubbly so that you can relax as soon as you arrive. There is also lovely linen, towels, bathrobes - and even slippers! To top this off is the honesty room where you can borrow books, a huge selection of DVDs, games, toys and visitor information. The owners live on site and are there to help as much (or as little!) as you want.

Each cottage has been named after birds that are regularly seen flying overhead, and are perfectly located to enjoy the best of both worlds at any time of the year - the peace of the countryside and the amenities and activities of the city. As well as being only 4 miles from Stirling city centre, it’s only 5 miles to the motorway junction for surprisingly quick journey times to Edinburgh, Perth and Glasgow and all their facilities. Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park is 20 miles away and the mountains to the north or the beautiful sea lochs to the west are all within a 2 hour drive. There are numerous golf courses locally and even the Gleneagles course is only 35 minutes’ away. For walks the choice is endless and one of the best cliff-top walks in central Scotland starts right at the cottages! Stirling is a vibrant but compact university city offering wonderful attractions, including an incredible castle, the amazing Wallace Monument, the historic Church of the Holy Rude and even ghost tours. There are restaurants to suit all tastes, swimming pools, sport centres, multiplex cinema, theatre, museum, pubs and shops. The best bit is that Stirling is very much a year round destination. The perfect place for the perfect holiday! Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles.

This is most definitely the best self catering accommodation we have stayed in. There was everything you could have possibly wanted and our girls loved the Honesty Room - a great idea ! The setting is beautiful and my husband enjoyed being able to fish. The welcome pack was much appreciated and enjoyed! We can't praise this accommodation enough !

We travelled the short distance from Edinburgh to stay here and though it's only 10 minutes from the M9 it felt quiet and secluded. We have two under-5s and they loved the space, the sheep/cows in the fields next door and the 'honesty room' which was full of DVDs and toys etc. George made us very welcome and there were some nice touches in the house on arrival. We would definitely consider staying again.

Had a wonderful time at Buzzard, George was a mine of information which was very helpful. Cottage was so very clean and a really good standard, felt just like home.

Lovely cottage, with a very homely feel. Very clean and tidy. The welcome pack was really great. Honesty room was fantastic, with lots of up to date DVDs for use. Rural location but close enough to Stirling that you could do all the touristy things. It was a shame the wifi was a bit intermittent, as with two almost teenagers this caused a few moans!

    Response from: administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; I'm glad you had a great holiday but am sorry to hear that the Wi-Fi was intermittent. It is normally very reliable but during your stay it was definitely playing up! I know because I work from home and good broadband connections are essential for my job. As we are in a rural location we have to use satellite broadband and once in a while it decides to go in the huff for no apparent reason. This can be highly fustrating for guests and ourselves but unfortunatley it's not something we can control. Hopefully this rare incident will not put you off visiting us again.

A lovely place to stay, off the beaten track yet only four miles from Stirling. Beautiful cottages, thoughtfully decorated and equipped. Stunning location, so peaceful. I heartily recommend.
