A small but comfortable cottage in a peaceful location. It is clean and well equipped though the bathroom is a little tired. There are no amenities within easy walking distance so a car is essential to explore. We particularly enjoyed the welcome pack of a very tasty homemade Victoria Sponge cake - yummy - and about a dozen fresh eggs presumably directly from the farm.

We had a lovely holiday staying at Butterton Cottage. The cottage itself was clean and tidy and had everything we needed in the kitchen as well as CDs, DVDs, books etc as well. The cottage was off the beaten track making the stay a bit more special. Our daughter loved the daily visits from the chicken and loved feeding her. There are so many lovely locations nearby we were equally impressed with the location as well as the cottage itself

Beautiful cottage in very quiet location. We enjoyed our stay very much and can recommend it. The only drawback is that you really need a car for everything, because there is nothing (shops, pubs, attractions, ...) within walking distance. But apart from that it is the perfect place for a few relaxing days. BTW: The cottage is well equiped with everything you might need.

We had a super time. The lack of Internet and poor mobile phone signal actually made a nice change.

We had to leave cottage after first night.Renovation work was going on til early of morning on adjoining cottage banging and crashing. Our dog was so stressed actually so were we!!No apology from couple next morning. The cottage itself was Very small indeed ther was only the 2 of us but the place was for 4 we always book cottage with 2 bedrooms. The 2nd bedroom was only big enough for a child so how it could accomadate 4 no idea.Certainly not worth the rental for the week. The owner had left eggs, marmalade and a lovely sponge cake which was extremely nice but we just could not stay with all the noise next door and the claustrophobic feel of the place. Also there was nowhere to walk our dog other than a long concrete road leading up to main road all in all a complete disaster so packed up and left.

a little home away from home, only downside is very poor phone signal so maybe wifi would be something to consider, the parade of very friendly animals we saw in the garden(dogs and chickens included to "wildlife") were lovely but did stress our dog and child with disabilities out.
