Had a great week in beadnell. Only cricism would be the lack of a better third bed. The one we were provided with was uncomfortable. Other than that very clean and tidy all you really need as a nice little base to explore the area from. Felt like home to me and my girls after a few hours!

spoilt by the weather but that's not the fault of the location. It would have been nice to be able to look out of a window which wasn't possible with the dormer windows and the low ones on the floor. The noise of the abundance of crows nesting was quite overwhelming but the area was very pleasant with some lovely beaches.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am very sorry your stay was spoilt by the unpredictable British weather. In respect of the issues regarding the windows, Buttercup is an upstairs apartment in a converted barn which originally dates back to around the late 1800’s and the new windows put in last year were kept in the previous design, in keeping with the character of the building and the area. The dormer windows in the roof were part of the building conversion and provide a light airy living space. As part of the older area in the village, Town Farm Cottages back onto the green area and St Ebba’s church. The trees in the churchyard form a rookery, a great habitat for a rook population that has resided there many years. Beadnell is a seaside village in a very rural part of Northumberland, and nature is all around us.

We were disappointed with the property. We stayed over new year, Christmas obviously missed this cottage, there was no welcome bottle of wine or tea or an odd mince pie. We have never stayed at a cottage where a welcome gift was not provided. I had to buy a cork screw. You could hear people downstairs and next door. Finally beware of the small print you are charged for fuel, again a first for us.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments, we have taken them on board, and will make changes for more welcoming festive breaks in the future.
