The Copse is a beautifully converted barn with plenty of room for a couple. The location is great and easy to find, being just off a main road but still secluded and surrounded by countryside. It is cosy and comfortable. The owners popped in to see us on our first day to make sure we were okay and to answer any questions we had - they live on site so if there are any issues they are easy to contact. The Copse is in a great location and it is easy to get to the south or north coasts and/or explore the Somerset countryside from.

Great place to stay. Love the dogs. Wood for the fire would have been useful on our arrival. Very comfortable and Corey.

What a relaxing 3 day stay we had in the copse. Just what we needed as a family. Set in the Summerset countryside the copse has beautiful views for miles around. Lovely food in red lion pub just 1 mile away. Glastonbury was okay if that’s what you are into but frome, which is just up the road is a lovely town. Supermarket only 5 minutes drive from the copse. Would totally recommend and stay again.

The weather was poor but the cottage was cozy. Cleanliness could be better, lots of creepy crawlers around. But no harm done.

Very lovely cottage with safe, large enclosed field for our 3 golden retrievers. Local pub Red Lion we thought we could walk to but roads had no walkway and it was further than we thought. Did however drive 2 miles up the road to Cross Ways at Lyford who allowed dogs in the eating indoor area too. Very good food and service. Found places to travel to a bit of a distance apart from a couple of local National Trust places.

There was no welcome pack or essentials such as cleaning materials. Having the toilet downstairs opening directly into the kitchen was not hygenic with no lobby in between. It was very dangerous coming down polished stairs in the dark at night. The end of the lane on to the A37 was on a very dangerous sharp bend which made exiting extremely hazardous especially during rush hours. We have stayed in far better accomodation for a week for less than this cost for three nights, we could have stayed in a hotel for less.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: We are naturally disappointed that you weren’t entirely happy with your stay but thank you for your feedback which we always take very seriously. As a welcome we usually provide fresh flowers and farm eggs or chocolates but given your comments we will in future provide a pint of milk and either eggs or a packet of biscuits. The essentials in terms of tea and coffee are in the cottage and certainly should have been for your stay. Again cleaning essential should have been available and I am sorry if this was overlooked on the occasion of your stay. As regards your concerns re the layout of the cottage I am sorry that this was not to your satisfaction but we certainly have had no other complaints in this regard in 5 years of letting this cottage. The arrangement of bathroom and the stairs do comply with building regulations. The stairs are indeed wooden but we have provided low level stair lighting for navigating safely at night. The access to Bush Farm is not the easiest but it is safe. Traffic is travelling very slowly on the bend but in view of your comments I will make guests aware of the access and make the suggestion that if at all worried it then you can exit left and arrive from the right with no difficulties.
