Description

Birdwatchers, walkers and nature lovers will find plenty to explore, with the Tarka Trail yards from the door, NT Arlington Court, and Exmoor nearby.

Situated on the edge of the popular village of Braunton, within a short distance of Braunton Burrows and the fabulous beaches of the Golden Coast, Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe, which are renowned as surfer’s paradise. Burrows Cottage, originally part of a 17th century farmhouse, is now a semi detached cottage offering spacious holiday accommodation with an abundance of character and has the benefit of its own small private enclosed courtyard which catches the afternoon sun. Just a short stroll from the hub of the village, which has a good selection of shops, pubs, restaurants, antique and curio shops and tea rooms. Keen birdwatchers, walkers and naturalists will find plenty to explore in the area, and the famous Tarka Trail passes yards from your doorstep - a perfect way to take in the scenery via the Taw and Torridge estuaries either on foot or bicycle. Nearby NT Arlington Court, Marwood Gardens, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Dartington Crystal works, Brannams Pottery and Exmoor National Park are all within easy driving distance. This is an interesting small house, very nicely equipped and close to good quality amenities. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Only drawback is lack of space to park car. Apart from that...brilliant especially for a family group.

Our family had a lovely holiday in Burrows Cottage and it was perfect for us in terms of location with Braunton being close to so many lovely beaches. The cottage itself is as described although it was probably a little smaller than we'd expected and at times seems a little cramped with 6 adults, a toddler and a baby! The downstairs bedroom is very compact! Thankfully the sun shone so we were out most of the time. There is a small courtyard with table etc which is where we tended to eat. There is a table in the kitchen although quite cramped to get us all around. The kitchen itself is well equipped with just about anything you might want! Also the beds are very comfortable. The lounge also has comfy seats and a lovely cottage feel. There are some lovely ornaments around the house adding to the homely feel. The car park is just around the corner as described and costs 20p for an hour and 70p for 2 hours - you need to pay from 9am through to 5pm. Overall a lovely holiday and we would recommend Burrows Cottage.

Not over keen on Braunton as a place to visit again. We thought the cottage was on the expensive side for a long weekend.
