The overall house was indeed spacious and just what we wanted ,however the downside was the cleanliness cigarette vapor canisters left in the bedroom we had for example. But the worst thing was the bed in the green painted room on the 1st floor, the slats that support the mattress many of them were missing and we couldn't sleep in the bed as the mattress fell to the floor, so had to sleep downstairs and to be honest that did spoil my holiday a bit ,that issue certainly needs addressing.

Lovely house in a great setting. Ideal for get-togethers with friends with plenty of space for all to eat in both the dining room and the kitchen. Lounge is very comfortable and the bedrooms and bathrooms are large. I would definitely recommend this property.

Absolutely fabulous holiday home feels like miles away from nowhere and yet 5 mins down the road you have tesco! Family met here including a newborn great grandson and all had a wonderful time from fishing to Archery provided by the great Grandad along with fly fishing lessons on the lawn for the younger generation. Very comfortable and clean and a lovely welcome from the ladies that met us at the door thank you Christine! Sadie is a wonderful addition for information about the lies of the fish!

Our family group of 15 (aged 9 - 70) thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The location is beautiful and the house is warm & comfortable. We all found plenty of places to interest us nearby and the children were quite happy playing around the house & garden.

A fantastic house for a large family / group. 4 areas to accommodate the whole group together - (there was 13 of us - all adults) - large kitchen table, dining room table, lounge with plenty of seating and the garden also has seating (not used this time!). Excellent house - felt very comfortable and clean. Everyone loved it.

We spent New Year at Burnfoot and found it ideal for a large family gathering covering 3 generations. The house and owner were welcoming and homely, tea and biscuits to start us off were appreciated after a long drive. Burnfoot has everything you need for your holiday, a lovely house in a beautiful position overlooking the river and although it feels very rural it is only a few minutes drive to supermarkets and Dumfries. The surrounding area has lots to offer, beaches, hills, forests and historical sites something for everyone. We all had a great holiday. Thank you.

We rented the house for the week to gather many people from across the world (USA, Australia) to attend our wedding at Gretna Green. Not one guest had a complaint about the house and all the beds were divine, everyone slept well. The most used area in the house was the kitchen where everyone gathered for tea, coffee, food, gossip and whiskey! Thankfully, we put in an order for good weather and got it. Most of the cooking was done on the Aga, despite the fact no one had used one before. The location is delightful with the river running along the back of the house. Should the need arise to gather so many people together again, in the words of Arnie, "I'll be back!". The property exceeded our expectation.
