We rented the house for the week to gather many people from across the world (USA, Australia) to attend our wedding at Gretna Green. Not one guest had a complaint about the house and all the beds were divine, everyone slept well. The most used area in the house was the kitchen where everyone gathered for tea, coffee, food, gossip and whiskey! Thankfully, we put in an order for good weather and got it. Most of the cooking was done on the Aga, despite the fact no one had used one before. The location is delightful with the river running along the back of the house. Should the need arise to gather so many people together again, in the words of Arnie, "I'll be back!". The property exceeded our expectation.

Ideal for family get-together; we were 18. The children had their own space on the top floor where they could watch DVDS. Great space outside for badminton and table tennis. The Aga was a great hit with the cooks in the party. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom was ideal for the90year old with limited mobility. Outdoor area for sitting listening to the sound of the river. Saw otters at the river.

Thank you Burnfoot of Cluden and Dumfries for a memorable bank holiday weekend. The house had everything we needed and in such a perfect setting we didn't have to leave the surrounding area the entire time we were there. Several BBQs enjoyed and many a refreshing dip in the river. Would love to return some day and would recommend to anyone!

We were greeted and made to feel welcome on arrival. The rest of our stay was equally pleasurable. The house is spacious, very home-like, and lovely. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was large and well-equipped. The grounds are very well kept and the setting is almost magical, with beautiful vistas and peaceful surroundings. There are lovely walking paths just out the door, but the house is quite close to Dumfries, shops, etc. We could not have wished for better accommodations! We all look forward to returning.

Burnfoot is a smashing house, ideal for large groups/several families to stay together. It is spacious, clean and well equipped, with everything you could need for a self catered holiday. We stayed on a very cold and windy January weekend and so found the reception rooms chilly even with the fire lit! However the kitchen and bedrooms are lovely and warm. Would absolutely recommend this house to anyone wanting to explore Dumfries & Galloway and we hope to return ourselves.
