Good stay, enjoyed the place, and would recommend it for large parties.

House electrics unreliable and precarious with frequent circuit breaker trips. Unfortunately the oil fired central heating ran out of fuel during our stay (Sunday and bank holiday) and after 2 days without heating and hot water we made the decision to end our week a day early. Hot tub was lovely, but again unfortunately was not fully functional. The house is also in a mobile phone dead zone and with no wifi means your out of contact with the outside world - we hadn't planned for that.

The whole family spent a week in this lovely house for my husbands 50th birthday & we thoroughly enjoyed it. Four generations in one big house plenty of room for all. The house is old with plenty of character, could be cleaner but the things that mattered such as bedding, bathrooms, kitchen area are all very clean and very well equipped don't think there was a utensil they didn't have. The laundry room is excellent, industrial size washer & dryer. We ran out of gas for the barbque, rang them up & they dropped a bottle of an hour later & it was on a Sunday afternoon, don't think you could ask for better than that. Our granddaughter loved it so much she wanted us to buy it but she has settled for us visiting again in the near future.

This property is very neglected, and cleaning is below expectations.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comment. But we need to state that we do not agree with the majority of your complaints. We have addressed the relevant points, and are therefore very disappointed to see that such a low score has been given especially as we have generously compensated you through Welcome Cottages for the minor points. We are also aware that our other scores in the past 12 months have been very good which points to a fairer view we believe of the property.
