So enchanting, tiny remote cottage but disappointed with the preparation. The bathroom was not great (unpleasant smell and not clean mats) and just little things like hoovered rugs and the log basket filled would have been appreciated. Had the sense bare minimum had been done. Shame because the lady owner is very nice, suspect someone who works for her not representing her well. Very good bed though.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am of course disappointed to learn of our guest’s feedback, and have since spoken to her, and would say that we always welcome constructive criticism, acting on those areas which need improvement. Although I cannot argue with her perception of the cottage, it is worth noting that her rating of 5/10 varies considerably with the ratings of our other guests, which are mostly 9/10 and 10/10. Our cleaner has extremely high standards and always aspires to give her best at all times. The bath mats are always laundered after each stay and clean ones given on each stay. Being Spring, we do not fill the log basket, but we supply unlimited logs and kindling, free of charge to all our guests, should they want to light the fire. These are kept in the garden shed next to the cottage. Regarding the bathroom: there is a faint residual smell of damp, being an ancient cottage, and we have lined walls and done all we can to eradicate this. I am glad, though, that she liked this enchanting cottage, in its rural setting, and hope very much that she enjoyed her stay in this beautiful part of the country.

Lovely cottage and great for dog walking in the surrounding area. There are nice places within driving range for a day out and the pub in the local village is within walking distance. The log burner was fantastic and made the cottage really cosy.

We love this place so much that we have visited 3 times. Very cosy, always a very warm welcome from the owners, who this time were enormously helpful when we got snowed in.

We had a lovely fee days at this stunning little cottage and would definitely recommend. The only minor point was that the driveway needed repair as it scraped the bottom of the car-no issue if you have a high riding car but a no go for any low cars! Super location for exploring. The dogs also had a fantastic time :)

Absolutely beautiful wee cottage, great time, beautiful setting away from it all. Views to die for, everything you could need, cosy and the lovely Sarah looked after us with advice on what to do and where to go. Loved it and definitely going back.
