A fantastic property in a lovely tranquil location, yet close enough to Carlisle and it's history & amenities, Hadrian's Wall and Scotland. The property is well equipped to a high standard and it's owners Don & Jean were both friendly, helpful and had a wealth of knowledge with regard to good places to eat and visit. Not only would we recommend Brown Dyke Stables, we can't wait to return again ourselves.

Brilliant break in a beautiful barn conversion. Really comfortable with views across the fields. Jean & Don were excellent - available for information but not intrusive.

A fabulous couple of days spent at Brown Dyke. Jean was extremely welcoming and lovely to chat to. A very well equipped and comfortable barn, we certainly relaxed! Only slight downside was the squeeze in the en suite. We are definitely on the small side and yet it was tight between the toilet, shower screen and sink. That said, we would stay here again.

The cottage was excellent with one draw back which was the size of the fridge/freezer. The house accommodated 6 people but the fridge/freezer was far too small. Because we were there in Dec/Jan, we could store things outside in freezer bags, but this would not be able to be done in warm weather.

A lovely cottage, could not fault it in any way. There were scones, eggs and flowers for us on arrival. jean and Don were very helpful in every way. Thoroughly recommend it.
