We had a last minute break for two nights here in August 2017 as we wanted to explore Hadrian's Wall. It is a lovely place overlooking open countryside and cattle . The landlady, Mrs Musgrave was lovely and lives next door so is on had if need be. Our party was a family of six and we couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended and will return for another stay when we walk the whole length of the wall next year. Loved the chicken who kept sneaking into the kitchen!

Very nice and comfortable cottage. Shame about the water - have to take turns for the shower as they have a system where you have to wait for the water to fill up. Ended up with cold showers most days. Also no Wifi but apart from that it's a really beautiful cottage.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We thank this guest for their feedback. Firstly regarding the comments about Wi-Fi, I did not advertise it as being available. It is now. Regarding the water supply - the water is stored in tanks and pumped. I do ask guests not to have the dishwasher, washing machine, bath running and 2 showers going all at the same time. I cannot understand why the guest had to have cold showers. Maybe the guests had the boiler switched off. I was not informed about any problem at the time.
