The property is set at the end of a private lane, yet Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall are only a short drive away. There are excellent links for those wishing to explore the Lake District, Newcastle and the Scottish Borders. The market town of Brampton is 5 miles away. Shop 5 miles, pub 1½ miles, restaurant 2½ miles.

    Very nice and comfortable cottage. Shame about the water - have to take turns for the shower as they have a system where you have to wait for the water to fill up. Ended up with cold showers most days. Also no Wifi but apart from that it's a really beautiful cottage.

    Response on behalf of the Owner; We thank this guest for their feedback. Firstly regarding the comments about Wi-Fi, I did not advertise it as being available. It is now. Regarding the water supply - the water is stored in tanks and pumped. I do ask guests not to have the dishwasher, washing machine, bath running and 2 showers going all at the same time. I cannot understand why the guest had to have cold showers. Maybe the guests had the boiler switched off. I was not informed about any problem at the time.

    Excellent. The property is fantastically spacious and well equipped. The owners live across the yard and they are lovely, very friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful, and there are lots of places to see. We would definitely go again.

    A fantastic property in a lovely tranquil location, yet close enough to Carlisle and it's history & amenities, Hadrian's Wall and Scotland. The property is well equipped to a high standard and it's owners Don & Jean were both friendly, helpful and had a wealth of knowledge with regard to good places to eat and visit. Not only would we recommend Brown Dyke Stables, we can't wait to return again ourselves.
