We had a lovely time and the chocolate cake was very good. We had some wonderful walks from the door and weather was great for walking. Whilst it was fine for the two of us I feel it would be a little tight for 4 grown ups in living area.

A lot of care has gone into making this a comfortable place in which to stay. The owner was friendly and helpful. Wonderful location with walks right from the door. Lots of wildlife. Spoilt just a bit by traffic noise from the A31 but bearable.

Lovely cottage in amazing location. Need to drive to local amenities, but that didn't bother us. Great value for money, will visit again

We loved everything about Brookside. The cottage was homely and comfortable, the garden ideal for our 2 dogs and the location - directly from the gate, into the forest - was amazing. A herd of deer could be seen daily at close range from the lounge window. Horses, donkeys, cows and even the resident woodpecker also assembled opposite the cottage. We have never stayed in such a peaceful location and will definately be visiting Brookside again. A big thank you to Henry for greeting us on arrival and for the lovely chocolate cake and flowers.

Our first impression of the cottage was that it was lovely and quaint, cosy and warm, and in a lovely setting. However we found the beds and sofas rather uncomfortable and the shower was not at all adequate. Also the heating system (night storage heaters) is a bit outdated and the cottage would benefit from an upgrade on this. All in all we were quite disappointed because had these been of a better standard the cottage could have been excellent.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback and I am glad you found the property to be ‘lovely and quaint, cosy and warm and in a lovely setting' - this has been similar feedback from our other guests, and we often welcome back our guests year after year. Our sofas were replaced only two years ago, we specifically chose upright, high backed sofas to give support, and we added soft cushions for extra comfort. It is difficult to know everyone’s preference with beds / mattresses, but mostly we hear that our guests sleep very well indeed. The shower was also newly installed about a year ago, when the shower room was refurbished. We hope our other holidaymakers find Brookside comfortable; as the happiness and enjoyment of our holidaymakers is paramount, and we do everything we can to ensure they have a happy holiday. We only live next door so am always pleased to help, and if there are any concerns that we can rectify, we will do so straight away.
