From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

Offering spacious accommodation and a games room, this rural property is just 15 minutes from the coast.

Set in large private gardens with a babbling brook running the perimeter, this six bedroomed detached property has been refurbished to a very high standard and makes the perfect place for a family gathering or simply to celebrate a special occasion. Tucked away in the tiny little hamlet of Allerston, just outside the picturesque market town of Pickering, visitors can board the North York Moors steam train and sit back and relax, whilst it chugs its way across some of Yorkshire’s most stunning countryside, through the Esk Valley and into Goathland, better known as Aidensfield in the TV series Heartbeat.
A 15-minute drive leads to the popular seaside resort of Scarborough with restaurants, cinemas, theatres and of course its beautiful sandy beaches affording the perfect family day out. A little further afield lies the historic port of Whitby, famed for its connections with Captain James Cook, cobbled streets, ginnels and alleyways packed with curio, antique and specialist shops, which are all overlooked by the abbey ruins. With the walled city of York offering a more sophisticated day out just a 30-minute drive, and historic castles, abbeys and beautiful gardens all found closeby, this truly is the ideal location at any time of the year. Shops 2½ miles, pub 5-minute walk.

Great location and accommodation. Shame the closest pub The Cayley Arms is in a poor state.

Our 2nd visit went very well in spite of poor weather. However the games room came in very useful. The house is spacious for 10 people, with a good kitchen, well kitted out. Our one complaint is that the bedrooms with vellux windows had thin blinds. You really need blackout blinds, we were forced to stick kitchen foil on the glass

We had an amazing weekend at Brook Garth. Perfect size for our party of ten. We all fitted around the kitchen table and all in the living room! The house is huge, exceptionally clean and spacious. Having a large fridge helped when catering for so many. My husband found the owner very friendly and the jug of fresh creamy milk was lovely. I would highly recommend this house for large group get togethers.

A party of 10, ranging from ages 16 to 80, celebrating a family birthday. The house was very spacious with 6 bedrooms and fabulous games room, lovely big kitchen with aga and whole house lovely and warm. The house had just about everything you could need except a few bin liners. Great for all the family. Perfect location.

This was a lovely property to celebrate a family birthday. Very spacious, a thoughtful 'welcome' pack provided with milk, bread, jam etc, even a vase of fresh flowers. A great games room on the first floor, lovely views across open fields. A real 'home from home'. Baby gates provided on the stairs for the little one.

The property location was hard to find. The cottage and surroundings were beautiful. Everyone in the party enjoyed the break.

Fab holiday cottage, great area and well thought out facilities. Biggest hits were the pool/games room and the duck-racing in the stream!

This cottage was of a very high standard, well equipt and spacious. There were extra personal touches that added to the experience - fresh milk and tea, biscuits, fresh flowers, a set of plastic ducks for a duck race in the beck. We went for a weekend break and were very happy, but this property would also be ideal for a week's holiday or a multi-generational family gathering, having bed- and bathrooms on both floors. Overall a gem of a property. Thank you.

The position, the grounds, the space and the room configuration all helped to make this a great get-away for our extended family. Three generations of our family made the most of the grounds and facilities during our weekend stay and we will be back to experience more of the local places of interest.

Lovely situation, tucked away in a small village (no shop in the village, but there are shops a few miles away in Pickering), gorgeous garden with a brook running around it, looking out over fields. Spacious accommodation with a games room and large living room if you get stuck indoors for a while. Good place from which to explore local villages or country side, and of course the beautiful Dalby forest is practically on the doorstep. The farmer welcomed us with a jug of creamy fresh milk left in the fridge too. Our party ranged from 9 years to 84 years, and everyone loved it. You can also watch the bats emerge at dusk, as you sit outside with your drink of choice. Highly recommended.

Well equipped property, not cheap. Owners rather stern and fussy.

Property is dated in terms of decor, but very clean and well looked after. Excellent location in quiet village with large garden. Great gas BBQ and plenty of space to relax inside and out. Will comfortably sleep 10 people.
