We were unlucky to be staying here during a really cold snap in February and found it really difficult to warm the cottage through. This may be because the cottage was unoccupied the week before we visited as other visitors have commented how cosy it is! On the plus side the cottage is really dog friendly with walking close to the cottage, and food in the local pub was excellent. We also appreciated the Smart TV and the ample supply of hot water.

Our stay at Brock Cottage was exactly what we needed. The host Ali was really lovely and provided us with plenty of space and was attentive to our needs. Brock Cottage was warm and cosy very nicely decorated, the rooms were comfortable and had a lovely open fire very cosy. The cottage is near all the little village shops and pubs. Our two springers loved the lovely walks near by and even had a lot of swims in the local river. A very enjoyable stay.

Excellent break set in a lovely village ideal base to explore the local countryside & lakes . House had all you could ask for & within a couple of minutes walk to the centre of the village with its few local shops- bakers, butchers ,convenience store, cafe, post office & last but not least 3 pubs -all of which would accept dogs. Definitely stay here again :)

The kitchen could benefit from updating. Bathrooms good. Generally comfortable. Parking could be a problem in high season

We had a lovely holiday in this super comfy cottage. It's in a great location with excellent local shops and pubs, good local dog walks around Broughton Tower and on the old railway line (sheep free) - and for longer walks not far from Coniston, the Duddon Fells and Scafell ( etc). The cottage itself is very cosy, in a courtyard off the Main Street so very peaceful, and with everything we could have asked for ( including wifi and digital TV for the kids on wet days), overall very pretty with very comfy beds - and nice clean bathrooms.
