From Bowness, the Lakeland Steamers cruise up and down Lake Windermere to Ambleside and connect with the Haverthwaite Steam Railway at Lakeside. There is also a car ferry crossing the lake, meaning you can easily explore the quaint Lakeland villages of Hawkshead, Far Sawrey and Satterthwaite, and find easy access to the stunning Grizedale Forest, where magical scenery for walks and cycling trips will be found. A magnificent cottage in the enchanting Lake District, to be enjoyed at any time of the year. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

    We have stayed Broadrayne previously it is one of our favourite places. The location is quiet and very rural yet within easy reach of places to visit. The cottage is well enough equipped and the garden lovely.
