We are a family of 5 and we stayed here for 4 nights during August 2017. The directions given to find the property were helpful as GPS only takes you so far. Paul met us as soon as we arrived and showed us around and ensured we were ok. Cedar cottage was ideal for our needs and with 3 teenage boys they had enough space. We had already stocked up on breakfast things at Asda in Cheedle before arriving. There is a small local shop 1 mile away if you need to. It is convenient for Alton towers which was our main reason for being here but there are so many other places of interest around to suit most tastes. Bakewell is certainly a place we enjoyed.

Firstly, Mr and Mrs Reeves were extremely friendly and helpful and the accomodation was warm and spacious. The setting was lovely. However, it was very shabby in places with very badly worn sofas which were really uncomfortable, a rather shambolic assortment of kitchen equipment and an ancient and very small cooker which was completely inadequate for a large group. Wi-fi was offered in the cottage sescription but this rarely worked, even though Mr Reeves said there were two systems and one would always work upstairs. This was not the case. We wanted to keep abreast of our business while we were away and use the internet to research the area, but this proved impossible and there was no internet for four days out of six. Please do not advertise it if it doesn't work reliably. We were offered a hot tub for quite a lot of extra money, but this malfunctioned a number of times and we had to find someone to fix it which was less than convenient. We negotiated a very small discount on this, but we had to argue about this which was uncomfortable and the inconvenience to us was not really acknowledged. Strangely, the dial settings on an upstairs shower were reversed so it was cold when the dial pointed to hot and vice versa. All a bit less than high quality. I wouldn't go back again.

There were a few cobwebs on the ceilings and dust around the cottage. Cooker wasn't great but everything else was great. Had a relaxing time and will recommend
