Description

Set in the centre of the village, this cottage is located nearby to amazing beaches with stunning backdrops.

Forming part of the courtyard to one of Braunton’s oldest houses are these two converted barns. Situated close to the centre of the village, the holiday homes are within easy reach of Braunton’s shops, restaurants and pubs. The barns can be joined together via a connecting corridor and so can be hired together for larger groups. Braunton is the gateway to North Devon’s surfing area, and the well renowned beaches of Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe offer some of the best sandy beaches and surf in the country. The backdrop to these beaches is the stunning South West Coast Path which offers some excellent walking with lovely views over the sea. There is plenty to do for all ages in the area including Clovelly, the lighthouse and quay at Hartland, the Big Sheep and Milky Way amusement parks, RHS Rosemoor at Torrington, cycling on the Tarka Trail or crabbing at Ilfracombe harbour. The regional town of Barnstaple has plenty of good shops and restaurants and the pannier market and Butcher’s Row are well worth a visit. Dartmoor and Exmoor are both within reach as well as the areas around the northern part of Cornwall. Shops and pub 100 yards.

    We were a little disappointed as the cottage was not as good as the last one we used in Northumberland. The cottage was clean and tidy but very dated and needed a few repairs; the bathroom fan squealed when it was on, the tiles needed repair. The owners were helpful and friendly. We wouldn't stay again but we don't normally return anywhere anyway.
