The cottage was well equipped and clean. You have to be careful parking right outside the cottage. It is better to reverse in the daylight. There is a woodland walk for dogs and a lovely burn alongside. It was cold outside when we stayed and the storage heaters don't emit much heat. We had to use the heater in the bedroom and the wood fire, but it was cold in the hallway when coming in from the cold outside.

We had a lovely week at the cottage which was just beautifully and comprehensively furnished. We took my parents and twins aged 12 and monty the dog. It was faultless. My parents used the en suite bedroom downstairs and everyone else upstairs. The garden areas were beautiful and Andy and Jan extremely helpful. The neighbours were very helpful especially Malcolm next door who continually supported my husband until he got used to working the cooker. (not good with technology lol) There were games galore provided, a good selection of books, beds and leads for the dog - all the wee touches that matter. All bedding and towels provided. Cottage extremely warm and cosy and beds super comfy. We had a blast and would return in a minute. Such a chilled, relaxed and luxurious environment.

Well this was our second year running at Brig of Tig and it won't be our last! Its our little piece of heaven away from all the hussle and bussle of everyday life (our dog loves it too!) The road to it can be a little scary (cows and sheep on the road) but its all part of the charm for us. If you're looking for action/excitement don't book it but if you want to re-charge and relax then do. We love it we do

We loved the cottage it had everything we needed & more! The living room was very warm and comfortable there is a gorgeous log burner we didn't get the chance to use it but if we had there was more than enough wood for our visit. The bedrooms & bathrooms were lovely & again were stocked with fab little touches that reflected how much thought the owners had put into the cottage. We did the woodland walk & saw a deer by the side of the garden which was lovely. We didn't have phone signal & our phones didn't pick up WiFi but that made it all the more relaxing. We would stay here again & I have already recommended Brig of Tig cottage it's well worth a stay. Plus our dog Billy had a great time!

Brig of Tig surpassed all of our expectations. Beautiful cottage set in a beautiful part of Scotland. Lots of personal touches throughout made it feel like home from home. We enjoyed making a real fire every night to curl up in front of to read a good book. We also enjoyed cooking lovely meals in the well equipped kitchen. Our 5 year old son loved exploring and told us his bed was the comfiest bed he had ever slept in. Jan and Andy made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back and have already recommended the cottage to friends.

We all loved the cottage - beautifully appointed and very clean, in a beautiful setting - lovely flowers and shrubs in the garden and a short, picturesque walk along the river for a quick stretch of the legs. The teenagers loved the wi-fi; great having a bedroom downstairs with en suite for grandparents; the dogs loved the garden - and we loved the porch area they had to get through so we could catch their wet paws before they came inside properly (it was very wet!). We moved the furniture around a bit and used one of the plastic chairs from the garage so we could all sit round the table . Nice touches included the outside candles (that we sadly didn't get a chance to use) and a good selection of dvds and games. The kitchen was well-equipped with an amazing selection of ovenware - but there was no saucepan big enough to cook pasta for all six of us; lots of glasses but we would have liked an extra set of mugs (and knives), though that is a small quibble. The instructions for every appliance were in a file in the kitchen - which was useful for working the induction hob. All in all, we would all recommend Brig of Tig - thank you!

We had a great week at Brig of tig cottage. It's a very well equipped comfortable cottage in a peaceful location. We chose it as it's not too far from Troon as my husband and friend were spending a few days at the open golf. It would be even closer for when the open is at Turnberry. We were a bit worried about a review We'd read that said the road to the cottage was bad but we didn't have any problems, the top road to Ballantrae we found was a quicker + more enjoyable run than the road through Colmonell but that suited us as we were heading to the coast most days anyway. There are plenty of good dogs walks from the cottage we liked the track at Laggan house + the path to ballantrae (up the hill and straight on) the beach near the Varyag memoral was also a favourite spot. All in all a lovely relaxing week + we would recommend it to others.

The inside of the cottage was very nice, however this was spoilt by the garden which was over shadowed by trees and lots of ferns. The photographs of the cottage and garden in the advertising were obviously taken some time ago.

You couldn't wish for nicer hosts in Andy & Jan, they were just finishing the garden as we arrived and showed us around before they left. The location is perfect, a few miles to get to Ballantrae where you have a Spar for most essentials (wine and food) & a cash point. The Kings Head pub serves good pub grub. The cottage is just perfect, beautifully appointed with quality furniture, fixtures and lovely bathrooms (makes all the difference). They have thought of everything you could need so if you have forgotten it, it probably there somewhere anyway. Our two collies loved it as it is 10 secs from the front door to a wood and then the river, which was just perfect as it was 26c for most of our week and it was a great place to cool down. As with almost anywhere is Scotland during summer you must bring adequate midgie protection, Avon Skin So Soft is the best you can get There is a great selection of brochures and leaflets for places to visit and a great selection of walks printed out to take for a day out, always great when you new to an area. Seriously didn't want to leave and the dogs sulked all the way home..
