Bridge House is a great place to stay, and we would definitely go back there again. The location is perfect, as it is just across the road from a lovely beach and children's play area. The house is not finished to a particularly high standard - there is peeling paint, very dated decor, no wifi, and some of the bulbs in the lights had blown. However, for a family with children and a dog it is great because there is lots of room, no expensive ornaments etc to be worried about, a porch for muddy boots, and parking outside. We had a great time here.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your response. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. A period property always requires more ongoing maintenance than an average modern home. We are sympathetic towards the Bridge House and always use quality materials and workmen. We use energy efficient bulbs, but are not able to tell when they may fail. However, there are always spare ones made available. We are glad you appreciated the space and felt comfortable, and that includes the four legged guests. We are sure the parking directly outside was a bonus for you also. We very much look forward to you visiting us again.

A lot of good points: location; cleanliness; well equipped kitchen ( except no dishwasher); nicely furnished, particularly downstairs. Not so good are: living room only seats 6, hot water supply will only service on shower at once; welcome pack promised but not provided; first floor bathroom needs a refit. We were a party of 7, if we had been ten as the property sleeps, it would not have been a good experience.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. Thank you for your comments. We cannot guarantee that guests would use and clean a dishwasher correctly, leading to many issues, therefore, for that reason we do not provide one. The lounge seats 7, but as people do in their own homes, they generally spread themselves around the house. More importantly, the dining room accommodates 10 people, the furniture is large and oak in keeping with the Georgian period. We have an eco-friendly boiler and there are compromises to be made whilst "saving the planet". Whilst I appreciate it might not be to everyones taste, the first floor bathroom is only 2 years old. We prefer to provide a welcome pack of wine and treats for your dog (if you have one). I apologise if you did not receive these, I have taken it up with the cleaning company. We hope to see you again in the future.

Bridge house was in the process of being decorated and where recently done was very good however other areas require work. Hallway, 1st Floor Bathroom & Courtyard at rear. Considering a 10 person house the seating in the lounge was only enough for 6 at any point. The dinning room seating was nice but a little large.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner. Thank you for your comments. We will be refreshing the paint on the hall walls in due course, to compliment our beautiful oak floor. You will see I have addressed your other concerns in other responses. We hope you enjoyed your stay and will return in the future.
