Briar cottage is a very comfortable cottage and is also very well equipped. It is probably the best cottage I have stayed in to date and I would thoroughly recommend it for exploring the local area and the Norfolk Broads in general.

We thoroughly enjoyed our mini break at Briar Cottage. Very comfortable and homely cottage. The location was perfect for visiting the Norfolk coast and seeing the Seals at Horsey Beach.

Very comfortable and cosy cottage, excellently equipped. Loved the incorporation of quirky old doors and old-style window catches etc. combined with modern appliances. Great location for the small resorts/super beaches along that part of the Norfolk coast.

There was no hot water for the entirety of our stay. We tried to understand the complicated system but with no luck. This made some things difficult but with the electric shower and kettle we got by. They also mention that they don't have the heated towel rail on during summer (because you only need a dry towel in winter?) We also had a "nuisance" trip on the sockets RCD at 3AM one morning and we never worked out why. The documentation said that we had not paid for towels and so we hauled towels all the way from Coventry only to find the towels were there (not sure if we paid or not to be honest) We were visiting family in the area and we know the area well so spent little time in the cottage so we feel it represents a good base but not a place to enjoy in and of itself.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: We are sorry to hear that you had problems with switching on the immersion heater. We do not leave this on during periods when the cottage is vacant but provide instructions for guests on this. We also include contact details within the instructions to enable guests to let us know if they are having any problems whilst staying at the cottage, and we would have been more than happy to talk you through the switch on process or indeed any other issues. Regarding towels, we can provide these on request for a small additional charge. However on this instance our cleaners mistakenly left towels out that had not been requested. We are sorry that this meant you felt you had been given contradictory advice to bring towels, not having chosen to hire towels when you made his booking.

Briar cottage itself is lovely and comfortable. We very much enjoyed sitting out in the lovely private garden and the conservatory. Having a bathroom upstairs helped especially since the stairs are quite steep. Wifi coverage was good during our stay which is justa as well because there is no mobile phone signal in Ingham corner. The location was a bit of a disappointment but I should have checked it more thoroughly. There really are no amenities at Ingham itself and the cottage was further from the coast/beach than I had anticipated. It is a car trip or a long and unsafe walk along narrow roads. The pub/restaurant at the church is very expensive compared to others in the area, so we ended up eating in or having to drive further in search of dinner. I had hoped to use it more.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. The pub in Ingham is owned by a recent contestant on this year’s Great British Menu. As such it is for some more of a special occasion eating out pub, although they do offers, so always worth checking the website. We provide comprehensive information to visitors before they arrive which gives details of local eating places, most of which are within a few minutes’ drive. The Star at Lessingham can be reached on foot using a map and going off road.

This is a lovely, cosy cottage in a very quiet area. It is well decorated and equipped and there has clearly been lots of love and attention given. The cottage is in a very small village but on a surprisingly busy road. A lovely beach nearby and close to boat hires for trips on the broads, so a good location for local attractions.

The cottage was beautiful I think the icing on the cake would be a cream tea or cake to have with a cup of tea on arrival. Also please leave fresh milk not soya.
