A walkers paradise, with an apple orchard and sheep filled fields to wander over and connect with several public footpaths. Rye activities include the Scallop Festival in February, the Maritime Festival and Raft Race in August, an arts festival in September and Rye Fawkes Bonfire in November. Camber, Bodiam and Scotney castles are all nearby, along with Battle Abbey and the beautiful gardens of Sissinghurst, Pashley, Great Dixter and Bedgebury Pinetum. Fishing, golf, swimming, sailing, horse riding, cycle hire and rowing boat hire are all available locally, or take the time to explore the wonderful nature reserve at Rye Harbour. We had a great time at Blenheim cottage. We arrived later than planned but the owner kindly popped by the next day to check we were ok and to give some ideas of family friendly trips/restaurants which was lovely. The cottage is half of the building shown in the picture of the outside (other half is Russet Cottage) but has been cleverly designed to make the most of the space. We had two adults, a 6 year old and a 9 month old and it didn't feel cramped. The garden is surprisingly private and has beautiful views. We could hear some movement from our neighbours but otherwise felt the soundproofing was fine. The kitchen is open plan but has everything you need if you plan to eat in. We didn't have any issues with tv reception unlike previous reviewers and we didn't use the WiFi dongle provided so can't comment on that. The farm the cottage was on was lovely and the location was great. There are loads of walks nearby and we were made to feel welcome to walk around the farm grounds also. It's 10 minutes to Rye, Winchelsea and around 20 to Camber Sands, Bodiam, Tenterden and other villages. Lots of pubs nearby and a supermarket 5 minutes drive away so everything was easy especially as we can't do long drives each day with the baby so for us it was ideal. Overall we had a great time in a beautiful location with plenty nearby to do and see.

A lovely cottage with a beautiful view. Had everything we needed, quite comfy, the two basket chairs were a little uncomfortable after a while, (when trying to settle on a night to watch a film with the kids), understand there is no room for anything bigger but maybe something softer. Would definitely return.

A well converted farm building into good quality accommodation, light and airy, lovely views from the patio. A very pleasant place to stay indeed. The only slight drawback was the kitchen area - if you really were cooking and eating in (rather than going out to eat in the evenings), then there was little storage space for food or for food prep.
