Historical interests include the castles at Raglan, Goodrich, Chepstow and Caldicott, and Hereford Cathedral with its Mappa Mundi Centre. Chepstow Racecourse is within an easy drive. Enjoy the local pubs and restaurants, and an award-winning pub in Newland is just a short walk away. There are many markets and festivals in the surrounding areas to explore. Many thanks John and Gillian for your warm welcome and hospitality and for taking our young children, Ethan and Freya, out with you on your walk with your dogs, Tess and Pip. Linda, the kids and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

On booking I thought I had booked the cottage with a garden and when arrived given the one without a garden which was inconvenient with two dogs and my health. So that was very disappointing. Not really sure how we ended up with that cottage but on the site it wasn't that clear, my search was first for a safe secure garden and those cottages came up and pictures showed it. I would only return in the future if we had Bramble Cottage for the dogs. The premises were excellent and Gill and John were very good hosts. Very clean and beautifully furnished. Worth a stay for a lovely experience.

We would definitely stay here again, great location for exploring the Forest Of Dean, lots of lovely walks and cycle routes, plus it was convenient to get to Cannop Cycle Centre and Symonds Yat areas. Our dog was made very welcome, and with the fire going we were extremely comfortable in this very well laid out two bedroomed cottage.
