A nice little cottage - I liked the main room very much, but bedrooms on the lower floor were a little gloomy and the double room was small. Lynmouth and Lynton were, of course, lovely. Owners were nice people. Good dark skies for stargazing. Main drawbacks were (1) it's towards the top of a VERY steep hill - about 4:1 - so really there's not much locally apart from some (very nice) moorland within reasonable walking or cycling distance; (2) the garden is essentially communial with the next door cottage; (3) mobile phone reception is poor; (4) the fridge is a larder fridge, so no there's no freezer.

Lovely little converted barn. Was clean, if a little dusty. Lovely rural location (don't expect to be able to walk anywhere) which we loved-total peace and quiet. Lynton/Lymouth are a short drive away. Exmoor directly outside your door. Nearest shop at the bottom of the hill was well stocked. We arrived early morning the day after officially being allowed in and access was as arranged, so didn't see the owners but they live next door and could easily be accessed if needed. Great cottage in a central location for touring the north Devon coast. We explored the local beaches, and had a walk around lynton and lymouth, all within a steady half hour drive. Lovely cottage, suited our requirements with two young children, plenty of space and comfortable beds. Light and spacious with a good well equipped kitchen. On returning from a busy day building sand castles and bodyboarding the patio furniture and garden were very relaxing, soaking up afternoon sun.

We loved it there and had a excellent time. It was a home from home.
