This converted barn, built in 1787, offers spacious holiday accommodation and is situated in the picturesque village of Gartmore in the heart of the Trossachs, amidst fantastic scenery. For walking enthusiasts, the property is just 10 miles from Ben Lomond offering exhilarating walking and spectacular views. Fishing, horse riding, pony trekking, cycling, golf and many water sports are all available locally. The city of Stirling with its breathtaking castle, Wallace Monument and Mill Trail is easily accessible, as is Glasgow with its stylish restaurants, boutiques and wine bars. Shop and pub 150 yards.

    Bedroom bit dark and felt damp and dreary.

    Response on behalf of the owner. I'm sorry you were disappointed in our bedroom and, to be honest, a bit surprised as we often have positive comments about how comfortable the room is. I would like to assure any future guests that there is definitely no damp.

    Sadly unimpressed. Very creaky laminate flooring. No welcome pack of tea, milk, or such like and only shop in the village shuts at 1300. No control over having heating unless you asked, we're from and in Scotland, the weather was rubbish, so regardless of where your from coming in soaked to the skin that's not great. Remote controls for tv and dvd were barely working. Wardrobe option was spacious but only about 3 ft of the ground, also found a nappy in it, thankfully unused. Vacuum cleaner clogged every 5 minutes. Ironing board but no iron.... Too many things just not good which was a shame as the impression given from the photographs on the website seemed to promise more.

    Response on behalf of the owner. I'm so sorry you found fault with our holiday cottage but we would like to address a few points. The first two comments are technically correct in that the wooden floor upstairs does creak but it’s a solid maple floor, not laminate, and we don’t provide bread or milk but we do leave you a complimentary decanter of whiskey along with fudge or shortbread. The local shop is a community owned shop and is only open from 8am-1pm but there is a good Co-op two miles away which stays open until 10pm every day. The heating controls for the property are inside the washroom and guests have full control themselves of when the heating comes on and off. We live next to the property and we always tell guests to phone or knock on the door if they have any issues at all - so things like batteries fading in remote controls or hoovers blocking can be easily and quickly fixed. I think it’s a shame not to enjoy your stay when a quick text to ask for help could have solved many of these issues. I promise we are very approachable and always willing to help make your stay as comfortable as it can be.

    Beautiful cottage that was perfect for our stay. Lovely big rooms (including the bathroom) lots of soace for our things. The shower was amazing!! Good location if you have a car or are very good at cycling hills. There was lots to do in Aberfoyle and Glasgow and Lake Lochmon were also close by car. We also really enjoyed the stunning garden with an outside and inside seating area. We recommend the black bull for a drink- a very friendly, real pub.

    Comfortable upstairs living in a cosy cottage. The large bathroom downstairs is tiled and opposite the access door so dirt from boots and paws after walking can be contained below the upper living area and bedroom. There is plenty of hot water and a very efficient heating system. Safe parking and good village amenities. The cottage location is very central for Stirling, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.

    Lovely, comfortable cottage with everything you could want. Easy parking and close to lots of lovely walks.
