Loads of space for everyone, great swimming pool, games room enjoyed by all lovely views, quiet setting. Although rural in easy reach of nice small border towns and Edinburgh. Ideal for groups of all varieties, plenty room for kids but also some quiet escape spots if required.

Nice gem just outside of Edinburgh. Great for large groups as rooms were very spacious so never felt crowded. The house is clean and tidy and was a bonus to have a pool and games room. Definitely would stay again and recommend to others.

I stayed at the Braehill House with 11 friends. We all had a wonderful time. The House is gorgeous. Couple of little things that needed looked at. The toilet plumbing wasn't good. The hot water on the showers went cold at times. Swimming pool needs refurbished which I think is due to happen. But over all we loved it and would definitely go back.

Everyone enjoyed the holiday. The pool, games room were well used and the children loved the play park and pond. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable.

The house was not clean to the expected level. House has a lot of potential but needs a lot of fixing and care. Kitchen was not cleaned properly for long time. Lots of lights are not working. Owner can be more friendly.

A truly superb house with a hillside location with brilliant views . It is an ideal location to visit Scottish Borders and easy to get in to Edinburgh for a day trip ..shopping,Castle and Royal Yacht Britannia You need a car to get around the area though Peaceful location. Comfortable lounges and a lot of space .The children loved the games room and great indoor Heated Pool. Another excitement for them were the cows , sheep and horses in the field outside the balcony Helpful owner was around to help resolve the inevitable minor problems We all had a great time

Really nice place, excellent location for relaxing, fantastic games room keeps everyone entertained, great pool and nice wee bbq area, instructions for most things but had problems with the induction cooking hob but there is gas too so no real problem. Very comfortable beds, loved the dining area and really enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the sun. Watching the cows is an entertainment in itself

We stayed here as a large family ranging from 1 year to 60 and there is plenty to keep all ages entertained. The photos do not do the house justice, it's huge and very stylish. The pool is an added bonus which we all had great fun using. We will hopefully return next year

All 12 members of our family had a brilliant weekend break from 28.4.2017 to 1.5.17. The lovely house has ample space for everyone and is spotlessly clean, well equipped and decorated to a high standard. Pool and games room are excellent and were well used by all. Views of the countryside are stunning from the large balcony. We shall definitely return in the not to distant future.

Braehill House is undoubtedly a good choice for a large party of people due to the size and layout of the accommodation. However, we felt somewhat disappointed as the description on this website fell short of what we found when we arrived at the house, having expected 5 star accommodation for the rental fee that was charged. The windows in the dining area were extremely draughty and upon closer inspection we found that paper had been used to try to alleviate the problem!!!. (The owner's wife informed us that new windows have been ordered so hopefully future guests will enjoy this much needed improvement). We found that several of the kitchen utensils were either broken or dirty and the drainage under the kitchen sink kept flooding. Also, one of the cooker rings kept blowing back and was somewhat dangerous. The games room was very popular during our visit but we were disappointed to find that the juke box was no longer there and the only facility for playing music was a rather dated ipod dock. The general consensus amongst our party was that the house was in need of some attention and maintenance. We brought this to the owners attention the morning we were leaving but he didn't seem to be very interested or concerned about our feedback. The potential is undoubtedly there to make Braehill House 5 star accommodation..... if 5 star prices are going to be charged.

A wonderful property full of character outside but modern inside with a wealth of activities to keep children amused - space to run inside and out, lots of hiding places, cosy warm lounge open spacious main living space. I marked local amenities down because it's away from any but you know that and that's part of its charm. Kitchen was a nice open space but a little lacking in equipment : we needed more glasses for water, chopping boards and some kitchen equipment (steameretc) was old or dirty - wasn't sure, only one oven glove. I think the equipment needed a sort and an organise. Minor point though. We had a fabulous time and would love to come back.

Great home, comfortable, clean and warm. Just a bit out of the way for local shops.
