The cottage was sited next to a derelict farm and just across a field from an extremely noisy, busy main road, along which the traffic sped 24 hours a day. The traffic noise wasn't intrusive inside the house due to the double glazing but was very noisy in the garden and you were not able to sit outside due to the noise. The view of the derelict farm was depressing. Inside the cottage was compact although the bedrooms were a decent size. The fire place (supplied with some fuel) was welcome. As the cottage was built of stone, it was very cold but the central heating warmed it up when it was on. The only toilet/bathroom was downstairs which was inconvenient in the night if you wanted to spend a penny. The shower was over the bath which meant a steep climb in and out of the bath over the sides to have a shower. A separate shower cubicle would have been nice. Throughout the cottage the door frames were low at about 5ft 11" (especially in to the kitchen) and several of our party repeatedly knocked their heads on top of the door frame. No warning signs were in place. The garden was bordered by hedges. The hedges had gaps in them. The whole garden was also open to the road so not dog safe at all despite proclaiming that dogs were welcome. The stair case that lead upstairs was extremely steep and the steps were very deep in places. Two of the bedroom doors would not close, due to the doors being swollen out of shape over time. Upstairs the radiators all needed bleeding so only the bottom half of the radiators got hot and in one bedroom the radiator did not work at all. There were large cobwebs upstairs in the bedrooms on the ceilings (although most of the house was clean elsewhere). The mattresses were comfortable and the decor and bedding was clean and pretty. Clean white towels were supplied. The washing machine worked well but there was nowhere to hang the clean washing to dry, other than outside on the line which was no use if it rained. A dishwasher would have been appreciated. The modern kitchen was appreciated although the crockery and cutlery were mismatched and dated and the cereal bowls were few. Although there was an outside light we could not work out how to turn it on.

The cottage is clean. However the crockery and cutlery has seen better days and the boiler smells badly of oil. The garden is big but not secure, it has a sewerage tank just off the patio which has a vent in the centre of the lawn. I known this cannot be helped but more could be done to make it a pleasurable place to sit in while relaxing. The porch access is full of cob webs but you can access via the back door. It's a shame as with avfew little touches it could be very nice. We just went for a short break which I now think was pricy based on what I have said. If I had gone for a week I would have been disserpointed and felt over charged!

Lovely clean cottage with a good kitchen and bathroom. Good travel links - useful for us as we were in the West Country to visit various relatives. The kids loved seeing rabbits and deer in the back garden!

A lovely and homely cottage in a delightfully rural location.

We found it difficult to find probably because we could not recognise it from the photo given, the hedge was not cut and we could not see it properly, the cottage was not named "Bow Bridge Cottage". We had to ask a neighbour next door who said that on Google earth her cottage was named "Bow Bridge Cottage". Our stay was very enjoyable, however, and the secluded area was lovely, the cottage sick and span, especially the bathroom and bedrooms with lovely views. We were greeted by the owner and he suggested enjoyable walks nearby. We were close to main towns so it was easy to get produce, and the sea was not far away with many beautiful venues we could visit.
