A very well equipped cottage apart from the settee which was very uncomfortable. This is a pity as every other aspect of the cottage was first class. The remote location of the cottage should be made clearer in the advertising. An elderly couple like ourselves had to drive everywhere.

Great location, lovely cottage for two, away from it all. Nicely modernised - but why is the underfloor heating control next door so if no one's in you're stuck (and cold!)? We had to bring in heaters from our camper van to make it comfortable. Our only negative but shared with lots of other reviewers so why not sort it? But still a lovely stay all-round

Lovely big kitchen and fridge in relation to the size of house, with a good range of equipment. Well located for our requirements-lots of walking on coastal paths. The only negatives were the bed was too soft for my back, and sagged in the middle, and there were a few damp patches on the walls, although the cottage did not feel damp, and was nice and warm. We had a nice reception from the owner's mum, who made us feel very welcome.

What a fabulous cottage. Didn't hear a car all week. The owners are so helpful and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely stay.

After a couple of initial hiccups - no underfloor heating and noisy 'neighbours' which were sorted out by the very helpful keyholder, we had a good look around the cottage. The sofa was probably the most uncomfortable thing we have ever sat on - or tried to;one of the kitchen stools was broken; the bedroom is gloomy ( a roof light would have been a bonus if it were feasible) and there is some ambiguity with regard to the 'enclosed' back garden space which is supposed to be safe for dogs. There is a notice asking 'guests' not to use the back garden as an exercise area - this should be made clearer. There were a number of other small, niggly issues and we left a day earlier than planned.

Response on behalf of the owner. Thank you for your comments. The underfloor heating was not on due to the fact that it was a very hot week and the cottage is very warm, however it was turned on when you requested it. There is also an electric fire downstairs and a heater upstairs. The Chesterfield sofa has duck down cushions with additional scatter cushions. It is very comfortable. This is a very old building with characteristic features like beautiful wooden beams dating back to 1542 therefore the windows are small, it is a cottage. However the bedroom should not be gloomy as it consists of 2 chandeliers and 2 bed side lamps. The enclosed garden to the rear is for the exclusive use of the cottage. I could not find any evidence of any notices. The noisy neighbours, was actually the milkman delivering the milk at 5am, which he does as quietly as humanly possible. He apologises sincerely. Both kitchen stools were fully functional before the guests’ arrival; it is one of our checks when cleaning the property. I believe you arrived a night early, for which no charge was made and then decided to leave the night before their planned departure.

We enjoy the cottage and location. Nice and quiet, and sufficiently comfortable for our needs. We will stay again.
