Description

Family friendly house in quiet location, pet friendly, with beams and private garden, Sea Zoo and Foel Farm Park nearby.

Peacefully situated overlooking the sea in a quiet corner of Anglesey are these two lovely holiday properties. Formerly three cottages, they have been beautifully converted. Bodlasan Groes House comprises two of the old cottages with a conservatory linking the two parts of the house, whilst Bodlasan Groes Cottage can either be rented separately or booked together with the House to make one large property. Bodlasan Groes Cottage (ref 26946) has a patio area outside the conservatory, and Bodlasan Groes House (ref 29647) has a separate rear garden, both with wonderful sea views and ideal for relaxing with a drink in the evening sun as it sets over Holyhead Mountain. They both also share a large, enclosed, lawned front garden. From the property, a private track leads 400 yards down to the deserted Traeth Gribyn beach offering superb sand, rockpools and bathing sheltered by the breakwater for Holyhead Harbour, 3 miles away. The Anglesey Coastal Path runs north up the spectacular coast to Carmel Head, and offers a great way to explore the whole 125-mile coastline of Anglesey. The countryside is a birdwatcher’s paradise: as well as a huge variety of common birds and seabirds, red kites, sparrowhawks and owls can often be seen. Migrating geese gather in the area and there is an official RSPB sanctuary and viewing point at Ellin’s Tower near South Stack. For children, the Anglesey Sea Zoo and Foel Farm Park in Brynsiencyn are well worth a visit. Horse riding nearby. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile, beach 1/4 mile. Properties ref 26946 and ref 26947 can be booked together (via interconnecting door) to accommodate up to 13 guests.

Ground floor: Living room. Second galleried living room. Two kitchens with breakfast area, laminate/tiled floors and beams. Conservatory. Shower room with toilet. First floor: 4 bedrooms: 2 double, one (5ft four poster), 1 twin, 1 single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Two Freeviews TVs. Two DVDs and small library. Gas range. Private rear lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and furniture. Built-in barbecue. Ample parking.

Both properties: Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Shared enclosed, lawned front garden. Natural water supply from borehole. No smoking.

Amazing house, couldn't believe the size of it! Great value for money, and would 100% stay again! Even down to the little details of the owners leaving Welsh cakes and a bottle of red was all very much appreciated! Thanks.

We really enjoyed our stay. It's like home from home with a sea view . Even when the weather is not good you can sit in the conservatory and take in the views. Lots to do and see locally. The only down side is no Wi fi but at least no emails from work and that's what holidays are all about. Excellent if you want a quiet retreat away from the crowds.

Excellent holiday, we didn't want to go home after our two week stay. Although the cottage is in quite a rural area down a private track, there are lots of seaside towns just a short drive away.

House layout - odd and did not work for us as a family. Could not use the nicer bedroom as we could not hear the children wake during the night as the bedroom is literally in another house. House decor- two houses joined as one - the first a mismatch of decor some rooms clearly not touched in years others newly decorated to a good standard. House smelt clearly a damp problem. Kitchen equipment - needs updating. Location - quite remote nearby beach not really a place to spend the day with small children.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are sorry the layout did not work for you as a family but for most it works well which is presumably why we get a large proportion of returning guests. The property is advertised as being remote and most guests enjoy the fact that the beach is quiet. If you want a busy beach with ice-cream vans etc. then there is always Trearddur or Church Bay within short driving distance. In reference to your comments regarding damp, we have thoroughly checked the property and cannot find any evidence of this therefore we do not understand this comment and we have not received feedback of this nature previously. The main kitchen in the property boasts a gas range cooker and previous guests have commented how well equipped the property is not only for cooking, but also for cleaning. The description of the property is very accurate and the photos accurately represent the facilities we have on offer at the House.

We really enjoyed our stay. Pity there is not Wi Fi but my disabled son managed. The location is brilliant especially for the doggies as just a short stroll down to the beach and a lovely countryside park opposite the channel a short drive away and also one in Holyhead. We were lucky with the weather and watched many a sunset from the conservatory. We spent most of our holiday in there.

The downstairs shower drain was blocked. Which was easily rectified. The rest of the property was excellent.
