Visit the towering cliffs, beaches, bays and coves of this island, from this beautifully presented holiday property.

Nestling peacefully in a rural hamlet location, adjacent to a quiet country lane opposite fields, these beautifully presented holiday properties provide a wonderful retreat from which to discover the delights of the island. Situated in the grounds of a Grade II listed thatched cottage, they have been fully refurbished and stylishly furnished. They have exposed stone and beams and offer an ideal retreat for couples - perfectly located for keen walkers and cyclists. Discounted car ferry tickets from Southampton to East Cowes can be arranged with the owner. Chale village, 1½ miles, lies at the foot of St Catherines Hill, and close by there are walks along miles of Heritage coastline, beaches and country pubs. Within easy reach are St Catherines Lighthouse, pretty villages of Shorwell Brighstone, Chale and Niton and amazing rock formations of the Needles. Blackgang Chine and Yarmouth Harbour are also within easy reach as well as numerous other holiday attractions. Picturesque thatched rooftop villages such as Old Shanklin, Godshill and Brighstone serve ice cream and cream teas, and many of the seaside resorts serve freshly caught fish of the day. This temperate island has towering cliffs, beaches, bays and coves, farmlands, river valleys and steep ravines, all linked by a 500-mile network of footpaths including 68 miles of coastal walks with spectacular views which are all accessed easily. For the outdoor enthusiast, there are also golf courses, riding, mountain biking, fishing, sailing, crabbing, surfing, kite flying, hang gliding and jet skiing. Shop and pubs approximately 1½ miles.

Living/dining room/kitchen with beams, sloping pitched ceiling and exposed stonework. Double bedroom with 6ft bed (can form two singles) and en-suite jet spa contemporary shower room and toilet.

Good location for exploring the isle of Wight. Shame the heating was on a timer that could not be overridden, didn't come on until 7pm and 8am which for October is late , consequently cottage felt damp and towels nearly always damp when needed for a shower.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. The heating can be overridden if required. There is a heated towel rail and instructions were given as to where the switch was situated but this could not have been used. Our phone numbers are left with all our guests and we ask to be contacted about any issue that guests may need help with, had we been contacted during their stay we could have talked them through the issues and rectified them with two clicks of the switches. The comfort of our guests are of utmost importance to us.

Lovely cottage. Took my elderly relative and her walking frame for a week so needed ground floor accommodation. We were very comfortable there and the gardens a delight to sit out in. Shower was too small for my relative to negotiate but she was able to get around the cottage and it was just a small step into the door. Sitting and watching the birds on the feeder on the very comfortable sofas made it an easy week.
